Grace's PoV "Hey guys wassup?" I said as I finally found the four boys under the shadow of a big tree "hey grace, come and join us" said Sirius in an highly and mighty tone "I think that was the whole purpose of me coming here"
I sat down with them and they started to pepper me with questions of any kind, not too personal I have to say which was a great relief, if I am going to have new friends then I want them to know me truly and not by my name
"Strangest thing you have ever done?" Asked James after the laughter died down after Sirius told one of his terrible jokes (and as the other boys told me he has a lot of them)
"I dyed my hair purple" I said chewing a strawberry that they stole from the kitchen. "No way, how did your mother reacted to that?" Asked Remus all interested.
What was I supposed to say? That she used the cruciato curse and that it was safe to say that I almost died? Nah we don't wanna scare them off
"Shit"
I said as I looked into the mirror, the elegant bathroom was now of a different colour:purple just as my hair. You might wonder why I did such a thing and the only reason is because I wanted to piss my mother off but maybe I've gone to far
You see, if I had done this at school maybe nobody would have noticed, but I did it the night before Christmas, before the Christmas party that my mother throws every year now
"Grace come down right now!"
I heard my mother screams from downstairs, I couldn't think of a proper spell to use to hide my very noticeable hair colour so I just decided to face the consequences of it, but with discretion: I wore a hat
I slowly made my way down the stairs just to be met with my mother's back "Girl you are going to sit next to Vlad during the dinner and- why are you wearing a hat?" She asked, her voice changed from nonchalant to annoyed in a brief second
"I am cold mother"
I said trying to sound convincing. I feel so stupid, the whole purpose in doing this was to annoy her but now I don't even have the guts to show it to her
"Take it off. Now." "No" "No? Was that a question I asked? I said take it off" "but mother I am cold and what if tomorrow I'll get sick and-"
With a simple gesture of her wand she unrevealed my hair. A gasp escaped both our mouths. I closed my eyes waiting for a reaction. A very bad one
"In the living room. Now."
For a brief second I thought that I could just run away, the door was just there and I could of have opened it and went out. But I didn't. Instead I went into the living room
"Crinus muto"
She said as I could see my hair getting back to how they where before, a light blonde, almost white or grey, just like my father's.
"Mother I can ex-"
"I don't want to hear your excuses, indeed I don't want to hear your voice anymore so I want you: if you'll make any type of sound the punishment will be worst"
I knew what she meant: I couldn't scream, I had to suffer in silence
"Crucio "
And there I went on the floor, trying my best to not make any sound but I could t help it and I squeal escaped my mouth
"Silly girl"
She stopped the curse
"Imperio"
I froze, I couldn't make anything. It was as if someone was telling me what to do and I couldn't Protest or fight back
"Polly come here"
"Yes ma'am polly is at your service"
"Now Grace, I want you to use the cruciato spell on the servant"
She said. No! I was screaming in my head as I stood in front of the small creature, fear in her big eyes. I thought "crucio" whithout wanting it and I saw the little elf contricing on the floor.
I can't live like this anymore
"She just put me in detention and nothing much" I said shrugging my shoulders. They all nodded in response and went on about how their mother would have reacted if they would have done something like that, but their thoughts weren't even near at what I went through
I smiled but I was dying on the inside, seeing how normal teens life is is a punch to your stomach. I wish I had their careless and happy life
"James look there is Evans" said Peter and we all turned our heads to a group of girls walking in hogwarts gardens. I saw James looking at Lily but he then turned thowards us
"Whatever" he said. "What? Whatever? Mate she has been your crush since you laid eyes on her how can you say whatever?" Sirius said, disabielf in his voice
"She is your crush?" I asked and the other three boys nodded. "Make a move then Potter" I said nudging him in his arm "nah"
The boys were in shock. "That is not normal Prongs, you sure you are ok?" Asked Sirius checking his temperature.
"Yeah I am fine, I just figured that if she wants me then she'll just stop rejecting me and understand what she is loosing, am I right?"
"You finally figured that out man" said Remus clapping his hands. "What's wrong with her?" I asked and the boys turned to look at me with a what do you mean kind of look
"I mean, before I went to talk to her friendly and she just blocked me out and made it very clear that I am racist and that I am not the best and stuff"
I said looking down, it may seems like I don't care but I do have feelings and gets hurt sometimes so don't mess with me. Trust me you better don't because I can control my pain but not my anger
"She is just a bit too up to herself, don't worry about her. She will understand what she is loosing" said Remus smiling at me and mocking James. We then all started laughing and eventually headed back to the castle for dinner
