Chapter 12

Business Deal

Avantika's POV :

He left and I got home. And well as soon as I entered, mom was in the dining area. I have no energy to fight with her today. So I quickly run towards my bedroom but she sees me.

"Where were you, if I may ask? Don't you see the time? And why are you so ready?" mom asks me and there were more questions but I cut her out.

"I was with a college friend. We went to mandir and then colaba. I got some books. I am sorry,Ma won't happen again." I say softly because I don't want to fight more. I am happy today after days, can't spoil my mood.

"Just few days until you would go off. Anyways be ready tomorrow. Don't go anywhere, tomorrow Chirag uncle and his family along with his son are coming officially. Behave with his son. His name is Dev Rawat. And if everything goes good, he will be our son in law." Ma dropped the bomb in front of me.

"Okay." I said and I left for my room

One moment I was happy. The other moment whole of my world was shattered. Today I finally felt like I was seen and heard and now all I know is I am a business deal and will be wedded off soon.

I always thought I was a burden to my family. They provided me with food, clothes and education. But they never talked to me in a loving way.

As I am a single child my parents never tried again because they were scared if it would be an unfortunate daughter again.

I got in a night suit and sat there for a moment.

I decided to look into today's day again.
It started out unexpected and ended unexpected.

Kanan picked me. Usually I am the one who picks everyone but he picked me. That alone was enough to convince me to date him. He cares about his people a lot that is all I can say. And he knows how to treat his woman.

When Moksh and I went out for the
first time, he was busy on his phone and then when we talked he gave me a list of behaviour I can't act. He said it would affect him as he is in college. He always wanted me to be dressed in a way I didn't like. Moksh ordered food for both and we ate. We didn't talk much. He just told me I was his girlfriend and I being unaware said yes. And then he dropped me. But before that he kissed me. It was the first kiss of my life. It was unexpected but it felt forced. I didn't like it, but when I told him I didn't like how he kissed me. He said fine he would never kiss me again. And I felt sorry so I kissed him, and he in his anger bit my lips, which was swollen for 4 days so he didn't meet me.

And I am lost in dark thoughts. But then my phone buzzed. It was a notification from Kanan. This guy makes me happy even just by his message, how do I tell him? That tomorrow morning I will commit to someone else for ever?

KS : I reached home. I had lot of fun. Thank you so much for saying yes for a date. It was perfect.

I read his text and I felt like crying. I wanted to tell him how much I wanna spend my life with him. He treated me better than my parents ever did.

Avantika : It was my pleasure Kanan. I just felt so lucky to go on a date with you. Thank you!!

I texted him and decided to take my journal out and started writing.
