"Do you really have to go on this mission?" Magnus asked from Alec as he observed Alec checked his weapons one by one. Alec could not help but smile at his worries, husband.
"It's a small demon attack. I will be back before you know. " Alec planted a soft kiss on Magnuss lips before he went back to checking his weapons.
"You are the Inquisitor. Why would you go on missions?" Magnus didn't feel okay today. It is not uncommon for Alec to go on missions despite his position at Alicante, but Magnus did not like what he was feeling today.
"I think I should come. Max and Rafe are with Jace and Clary. I dont have any appointments today, " Magnus snapped as he wanted to change into his battle clothes.
"Stop worrying so much, love. Also, we promised to see my mom and Luke today for lunch. Say hi to them for me?" Alec was all ready for his mission.
"Portal me to L.A?" Alec winked.
"Promise me you will be safe?" Magnus still did not want to let Alec go.
"I promise, I will be back before you know. Look who is waiting for me." Alec kissed Magnuss forehead after he glamoured his weapons. Magnus knew nothing would keep his stubborn his husband. Magnus sighed as he opened a portal to L.A institute.
"I love you, Alexander."
"I love you, Magnus. I will be home before you know. Wait for me." Alec smiled softly at Magnus before he stepped into the portal.

"You seem distracted." Luke handed over a drink to Magnus. Maryse was plating the food, and even though Magnus offered to help, she refused as she enjoyed the things in a mundane way.
"I just have a weird feeling today."
"Worried about Alec?" Maryse overheard their conversation.
"Yeah," Magnus smiled.
"I am sure he is okay; he is one of our best Shadowhunters." Luke reassured Magnus.
"Yeah..." Magnus took a sip from his drink, but he still could not get rid of the uncomfortable feeling.
Once the lunch was over, as Magnus was not feeling his normal self, he decided to go home. As Alec, Max, or Rafe were not at home, Magnus decided to read one of his old portion books. It has been almost a century since he actually he got the book, and he remembered every portion in the book, but Magnus always found reading books very relaxing. With Max being a fan of books, the whole family started reading whenever possible. As Magnus was few pages into the book, his phone started ringing.
"Isabelle, how are you dear?" Magnus answered the phone with a smile.
"Magnus." Izzy went quiet.
"Izzy?"
"Magnus, please come to the L.A institute right now."
"Isabelle?"
"I will explain everything when you are here. Please, hurry, " Izzy's voice cracked.
"Please, come quickly," and Izzy hanged up.
Magnus's chest felt extremely tight, and he did not wait to call and ask Alec what was going on. He opened a portal and stepped into it as quickly as possible. As he rushed into the portal, he almost fell on his face when he came out from the other side of the portal. He quickly put his palm on the floor and stopped himself from falling. Magnus did not have time to think about being graceful. That was the least thing he was worried about as his head was full of worried thoughts about his husband.
"Magnus." Magnus looked at the direction of where Helen's voice came from.
"Helen"
"This way," Helen guided Magnus into where the medical room is at. Magnus did not ask any questions as he was afraid of what the answer would be. Once they reached the medical room door, Magnus saw Izzy was on her knees. She did not look up, and instead, she was staring at the floor.
"Magnus." Magnus did not realise Simon was also there.
"Magnus.. Alec, " Simon managed to say. Simon never ran out of words, but right here, right now, he didn't know what to say.
"Magnus," Izzy got up from the floor as she heard Magnuss name.
"I am sorry," Izzy managed to mutter before braking start crying. Her face was covered in blood, and so were her clothes.
"I am sorry. I am sorry, Magnus. I am sorry, Alec." Izzy kept on saying as she sobbed, Simon quickly came and hugged her as she seemed as she was going to pass out.
"Alexander?" Magnus looked around.
"He is in the room." Helen looked extremely sad. Magnus inhaled and exhaled as he felt his eyes tingling.
"What happened to Alexander?" Magnus looked around, looking for an answer. Everyone was looking away from Magnus as no one knew how to answer. As no one seemed to answer, Magnus decided o go into the medical room to find the answer, and as he opened the door with the magic, no one stopped him. As soon as Magnus opened the door, Magnus's eyes stopped at the silent brother who was treating a lifeless body laid on the white bed.
"No." Magnus mumbled. The silent brother turned to Magnuss side and walked towards him. Magnus's eyes were still on the lifeless body on the bed, which was covered in blood.
"No." Magnus said once more.
"Magnus Bane, I am sorry about your loss."
