Magnus looked around the loft, and it was a mess. Opened books all over the loft, food containers, and empty mugs on almost every surface. Moreover, Max and Ethan had fallen asleep on the floor while Kira had fallen asleep on the sofa. She had a book over her face. Magnus chuckled as Kira started snoring all of a sudden. Magnus knew Rafe was at the institute. While Jace and Izzy were helping him with the archives at the institute. Clary and Simon had been busy looking after the institute so everyone could focus on the sudden appearance on Jace's parabatai rune. Magnus's visit to Tessa and Catarina weren't fruitful, but at least they can now do intense research on sudden apreance of runes.

Magnus didn't want to wake up the kids but also didn't want the loft to smell like leftover food. He snapped his finger and got rid of the empty containers as quietly as possible. The cleaned mugs were now back on the cupboards, and the opened windows in the loft let the cool draft into the loft, making it smell fresh. Magnus made sure to turn on the air diffuser and put some citrus and lavender essential oil in it so the house would smell nice soon. He made sure to conjure up some fluffy blankets and covered the kids with those before he disappeared into his study.

He sat down as he had dozens of books he to go through. They found a few dozens of books at the spiral labyrinth that briefly mention reincarnation. They picked all of it even if the books only had a chapter or two. The reincarnation topic, especially when it comes to angel bloodded, has never been explored. The topic of death and life after that has always been a mystery to mundsnes to shadowhunters to downworlders. Magnus has seen so many lives pass by during his time on earth. He literally has seen the birth of a person and the death of that same person in his lifetime. There was a time he actually questioned if he was becoming immune to sadness that came with death. After all, "Life is fleeting." As Camille mentioned. Honuring someone after their death was onething and Magnus did once thought about lesrning about the topic reincarnation . Especially after his first love Etta's death. His heart had already been broken by death at that time, but that was the first time he lost someone who was so dear to him and who loved him just as he loved them. But soon after, he realised it was always better not to go against the natural law.

But his Alexander's death broke something in him that he didn't know that existed. After Alec's death, for a while, Magnus was nothing but a shell of a person. If it hasnt been for their kids, Magnus knew he would have done something ver selfish soon after Alec's death. The face of their kids, their smiles, their chubby little baby hands, their sloppy kisses on his cheeks brought Magnus back from the darkest deepest depth he wouldn't dare to share with anyone.

Magnus sighed as he opened the first book on the list. Suddenly, a chai sounded perfect for his reading session, so he conjured a mug of steaming chai and set it on his table. The fragrance of cinnamon, ginger, and cardamon was truly blissful. Magnus opened the first book to see find any information regarding angel blooded reincarnation. He knew that maybe they were focused on something wrong. Maybe.... just maybe.... his angel didn't really reincarnated and the rune on Jace's body has to do something with his pure angel blood. After all, angels are complicated beings.

Magnus groaned. He knew been alone with his thoughts after what just happened was a stupid idea. Since Jace burst through the door to now, Magnus was always accompanied by someone, but the second he was alone, he had started overthinking. He couldn't help it. It is one of his many messy traits, after all.

Magnus rubbed his eyesbrows he tried to concentrate on the book in front of him. When that didn't help, he took a sip from his warm and nice chai, hoping that would ground him. The first sip felt heavenly. The sudden burst of flavours in his mouth finally made his beating heart calm down.
He sighed contently as he took another sip, and once he felt satisfied, he set the drink aside.
