Today, September 30th, is the national day for Truth and Reconciliation, otherwise known as Orange Shirt Day, across Canada.

Today we listen to Indigenous voices. We acknowledge the harm that residential school did. Today is a day to acknowledge Canada's horrifying history when it comes to Indigenous peoples. First Nations, Métis, and Inuit. This is something that affects us all, and we need to stand together to create a world where something like this can never happen again. We need need to listen to the survivors. We need to acknowledge and remember those who never made it home from these schools. Families we're torn apart and cultures were lost. Today is the day we've decided to stop and acknowledge all of this, but we need to acknowledge it beyond today. We need to continue to listen and learn and work towards truth and reconciliation everyday.

This year, I decided to draw the prairies and territories. I've also included some short video resources. If you go to my art book there will be more resources from a previous year if you'd like to take a look.
