Cupid's Marionette

A moonlit night.
The stars look bright.
It's starting to feel like winter time.
Turtlenecks and purple skies.
And of course, Cupid's lies.
Cupid, why do you lie?
I really thought I could make him mine.
Cupid, you're so sly.
Why do you make me cry?
Crying on the floor.
I was so unsure.
Because Cupid's bow stabs.
It makes one go mad.
Love is the most twisted curse of them all.
It can be the cause of one's downfall.
I can feel the strings, they pull.
They pull me towards your soul.
One thinks of their lover, looking at the moon.
But that way I can't be with you.
Because I want us to be stars that crash into each other.
Stars that will always be there for one another.
Will you end this uncertainty;
And be there for eternity?
