Drugs
Party's
Coffee
Work
Art
Sleep
We submerge ourself in emotions
And then we drown
Some come up for air
And some...
don't
Some gulp down
water
like
they
depend on it,
like it's honey or syrup
Some simply watch
from the shore.
Splashed by the sea,
they are warned of
diving too deep.
But the happy grins
and cheerful laughter
eventually draw them in.
The ones who never learned to swim drown first
