There have been 726,755 suicides this year as of 10:32 am 9/5/2023. 1,294 of those have been today 9/5/2023 as of the time 10:34 am. In the year of 2020 116 police officers died of suicide. On average officers will witness 188 critical incidents during their careers. Only 3-5% of U.S. agencies have suicide provention programs. Suicide is the number one threat to police officers. Police suicide deaths are almosts double maybe tripple the amount of duty deaths. In 2018 Texas and California had the highest number of police suicides in the U.S. We need to honor and remember our officers fallen due to trama and suicide. As much a hero as any, these officers fought demons we hope to never know. We mourn their ultimate sacrifice, and we hold their loved ones in our hearts, always a part of our thin blue line family.
