Nayeon and Jeongyeon were walking round the corridors after the first few weeks of university, having completed their classes for the day.

"How's it going with Jihyo?" asked Nayeon.

"We haven't spoken. We only exchanged a few words, we've been keeping it cordial."

"Give it a chance, Jeongyeon. I saw the sadness on your face. You miss her, don't you?"

Jeongyeon sighed. "In all honesty, yes I do. I miss when we'd laugh and talk and she'd hug me and cry on my shoulders when she was sad. But every time I want to make up with her, I think of the diary"

"That was when we were young, Jeongyeon. You need to let go and move on. You can't lose Jihyo's friendship over this, she loves you"

"Why would she write that if she loves me?"

"Because that's what friendship is, Jeongyeon."

Jeongyeon started tearing up. Nayeon put a hand over her shoulder. "Anyone would've interpreted it that way, don't feel bad about it. But give Jihyo some space to explain, I'm sure you'll both be happier"

Jeongyeon sighed. "I hope I can brace myself to hear it."
