Nearly a month passed after their encounter and Samrat was back and he couldn't be any happier. Throughout the month he made sure that at least once a day he could get a glance at Adriti, he would make even the lamest excuse to visit her workplace or ask Sarah to bring her to Maheshwari mansion.

His feelings for her bloomed like a blooming nurtured flower and Adriti's condition was no less. Around him, she felt peace, she felt at home. Those silent sneaky eye contact were the only source of communication but still, it was enough.

Samrat was currently working in his office. He was finally shifting his business back to India. Suddenly his phone rang and he looked at the unknown number with a frown. He never receives any calls on his private number.

"Hello?", he answered the call and could hear commotion on the other side

"Samrat?, ci-city h-hospital, pa-papa ac-accident", he heard a panic-stricken voice of Adriti and fear gripped his heart at her tone

"Adriti, baby relax, calm down. Please speak clearly", he spoke in a soft tone trying to calm her down but his racing heart wasn't helping either.

He quickly took his wallet and made his way out trying to comfort her with his words but all in vain as the line suddenly went dead.

"Hello? Hello? Adriti are you there?", he questioned

"Shit!", he cursed and entered the private lift, quickly punching the ground floor button

"Find Adriti's current location in five minutes", he dialled a number and commanded. He ended the call without even letting the other one speak.

Meanwhile, Adriti looked at her dead phone, as she felt all her last hope shattering. A few hours ago she was happily working in the bakery when her cellar rang. It was a call from the hospital informing her that her father was in a road accident and she was quickly needed there.

She felt as if the earth had swept beneath her. Tears continuously flowed from her eyes but she gathered herself and quickly ran towards the hospital.

When she entered the hallway, she saw her mother and younger sister embracing each other and wailing as they sat on the bench.

"Mumma", she called and her mother took her in a bone-cracking hug, wetting her shoulder with her tears

"Yeh kya ho gaya tere papa ko Adu?", she wailed

Adriti tried her best to keep her emotions at bay and appear strong in front of her family. She knew they needed her more and breaking in front of them wasn't an option.

"Shh! Kuch nhi hoga papa ko, sab thik ho jayega. Madhu ja jakar Mumma ke liye pani lekar aa", she comforted her mother and asked her sister Madhura to bring water which she quickly obliged.

The family sat on the benches praying the almighty to make everything right. Suddenly the door of the OT opened and a nurse walked outside.

"Dekhiye, patient ki halat bohot kharab hai, abhi kuch kahe nhi sakte. Please aap blood ka jald se jald intazaam kijiye, nhi toh ham bhi kuch nhi kar payenge", she informed and walked inside again

Adriti felt as if someone was squeezing her heart. Her father's blood group didn't match with either of them. Her mother broke again in sobs and Madhura tried comforting her as her own tears betrayed her.

Adriti felt helpless, she felt as if all the doors had been closed on her face. All those inappropriate thoughts of something bad happening clouded her brain and she almost felt helpless. Her hands shivered and she fell on her knees as all the energy left her body.

And in the heat of the moment, all she could think was of Samrat. He was her last hope and she did what she felt was right, she dialled his number. Sarah had given her his personal number in case of emergency and she couldn't be any more happier about it.

Within ten minutes Samrat was kneeling in front of her.

"Adriti? Kya hua?", his tone was so soft as if she would break any second.

She quickly flung herself in his embrace and sobbed furiously. Samrat was quick to wrap his arms around her as tears continuously flowed from her eyes nonstop, wetting his shirt in the process.

She tried speaking but it was all muffled in his shirt. He tightened his grip on her as he felt his heart being pricked by needles seeing her condition. All he hated was tears in her beautiful brown orbs. He spoke all those comforting and soothing words in her ears.

He detached himself from her and questioned her again.

"Papa ka accident ho gaya hai, unki condition critical hai, doctor neh blood arrange karne ko kaha hai, per mujhse kuch ho hi nhi Raha hai, please samrat bacha lijiye na unhe, mai unke Bina nhi rhe paungi, agar unhe kuch ho gaya toh mai bhi mar jaungi", she spoke everything so helpless that he felt himself breaking with her

Her once lively brown eyes were now filled with tears and appeared hollow. Her face was pale and her cheeks tear-stricken.

"Kuch nhi hoga unhe thik hai? Mai aa gaya hu, sab thik ho jayega, mai kuch nhi hone dunga unhe", he assured and again held her in his embrace as he sobbed

"Promise?", she lifted her head and asked him

"Pakka vala promise", he promised her and softly kissed her forehead reassuringly.

She was his everything and he would go to any extent for her. He helped her up on her feet and walked towards the purifier. Making her drink water, he called his PA and ordered him to arrange the blood from the blood bank.

Cleaning her face with his handkerchief he took her towards the OT where her mother and sister were praying silently.

And within minutes, the blood was arranged along with his own doctor's team who personally looked into her father's case. He made phone calls and arranged every possible source to keep his promise.

He excused himself when his phone rang. "Ma?", he answered the call

"Bacche kaha hai tu? Itni raat ko gyi hai fikar ho rhi hai ham sabko", her voice was filled with concern and he regretted not informing her beforehand. The last thing he wanted was to bother his mother this late at night for his whereabouts.

"Maa aap sab mere fikar mat kijiye, so jaiye. Mujhe thodi der ho jayegi, Kam meh fasa hua hu", he assured and cut the call after speaking with her for a few minutes

"Samrat", he quickly turned back towards her voice and was taken in a bone-cracking hug by Adriti

"Thank you thank you so much, aapki wajah se aaj papa thik hai. Hamari help karne ke liye thank you", she spoke continuously as more tears escaped her eyes.

Samrat hugged her back and caressed her head. She fit just right in his arms As if she was meant to be.

"Bas Riti, bas aur kitna roh ogi, itna aasu kaha se laati ho, bas abhi warna baad hi aa jayegi", he joked trying to lighten up her mood

And he felt his heart jump when she giggled at his remark. She looked up in his eyes, resting her chin on his chest and rose to her tip tops. Planting a soft kiss on his cheek, she gazed deeply into his mesmerizing chocolate-brown orbs. How much more am I going to fall in love with you Samrat?
