Wolf

Who gave this woman a license? Is she trying to kill me for ruining her date with her husband? I thought I was a reckless driver, but she's on a whole new level.

"Can you slow down a little? I'm about to stain your seats with the sandwich I ate in the morning," I grumble when she hits another curve too quickly.

"For a biker, you're such a wuss, brother. I'm barely going eighty five."

Eighty five miles per hour?! On this road? Is she insane?

"You're crazy," I shake my head at her then close my eyes and try to relax in my seat. Lia and Blake are currently taking me home, cause they came to Des Moines straight from Chicago and didn't take my bike on their way. I was sure Blake would be the one to drive, but he was more than happy to give his wifey the wheel, saying he still felt uncomfortable driving.

It's probably because of the accident he was in three years ago, in which his parents died and he barely managed to survive. He was the one driving back then, so it's understandable he feels uncomfortable behind the wheel.

Which Lia ruthlessly uses to her advantage, racing through the streets with no regrets.

I was genuinely shocked to see them with Lorenzo and that freaky aunt of Lia's at the station. Who would've thought that the great king of wolves would come personally to get me out of jail? I definitely didn't. Yes, he did give his word that the club would be under his protection for as long as Lia was part of it, but I don't think it means getting personally involved in every little thing that concerns the club. I was more than happy to watch my sweet Fox rake that brain of hers to try to find a way to get me out, and Lorenzo, being the almighty king he is, ruined everything.

I had no complaints about being in jail after Nadia explained everything through the letter that Lia's lawyer brought me, especially since she promised to get me out. My holding cell had a clear view of the precinct, and I could see my lovely Fox in her true form. She was so fucking hot with her badge, gun and looking like the badass cop that she was. I am definitely going to buy a costume for her so we can roleplay later on.

It would be so fucking sexy to be arrested by her.

But before that, someone needs to get punished. Ted. That fucking detective was too nosy for his own good. And I also didn't like how he treated my girl when she worked with him. He was so condescending, so rude to her that I would've punched him in the face had I not been behind bars.

Well, I no longer am, so poor little Ted is about to need a new ID photo.

And he won't be able to do shit about it, cause Lorenzo's order was clear - do not touch the Shadow Warriors Club. The king pretty much gave us permission to do whatever we fucking want and no one can do anything about it. Even cops - as long as they're wolves of course.

Thank fuck Ted is one.

I feel Lia slow down the car, but I can tell we're nowhere near the compound. "Hey, where are we going?" I ask curiously when she turns south.

"We're going to pay Ted a visit. His Alpha will definitely like to hear that one of his men went against the King's order."

"You're vicious. You're going to talk to his Alpha?" I chuckle lightly, knowing exactly how vindictive my sweet sister can be. Poor Ted, he will not only need a new ID photo, but also a new ID.

We arrive in an area surrounded by woods. It's not far from a human town, but still far enough to have peace. Reminds me of home. Right after Lia parks the car, we're surrounded by a dozen of men wearing nothing but fucking jeans, and for once I'm glad my Fox isn't with me. I'm not sure I'd like to have her around half-naked men with better bodies than mine.

"Identify yourselves," one of the men orders gruffly when we all get out of the car.

"Lia Clarke-Knight," is all Lia needs to say to have the men back away and bow respectfully. I guess Lorenzo made it clear to all wolves who Lia is and how she's supposed to be treated.

This is fucking great. I'm so glad I can call this woman my sister.

"Miss Clarke, it's a great pleasure to meet you," a middle-aged man smiles warmly as he leaves the biggest house and approaches us. Although he looks to be around his fifties, I know for sure he's much older. Wolves age slower than humans.

"It's Missus Knight now, but thank you. It's nice to meet you as well," Lia retorts, shaking the man's hand before Blake takes it back and discreetly wipes it with his. Jealous, huh? Possessive fucker.

"Shall we talk in my office?"

"If you prefer that, sure."

We all walk past the group of half-naked guys and head to the top floor of the Alpha's house, where his office is. Once we're all sat down, with Lia coddled by Blake and little poor me right beside them, the Alpha gets to the point, "To what do I owe the pleasure of having you visit me?"

"I'm the bearer of bad news, unfortunately. One of your men, namely Ted Creston, has gone against the King's order and tried to bring harm to a Shadow Warrior. Does that name ring a bell?"

"Of course. His Majesty has made it clear that the humans there were not to be harmed in any way and that all wolves are to help them if they need us," the Alpha replies nervously, his face becoming pale as he understands the shit he's in. He knows that the whole pack could be punished for one man's wrongdoings if the King wanted.

"This man here is a Shadow Warrior. Under the King's order, I brought him here so he can announce the punishment Ted is going to get," Lia reveals. Since when do you take orders from Lorenzo, sis? Usually it's the other way around.

Before the Alpha can respond to that, a loud rumble of almost twenty Harleys reaches us, definitely getting some of the wolves deaf due to their sensitive hearing.

"Looks like they're here," Blake grins, sending me a glance. I'm lost as to what he's trying to say until I hear the very distinctive voice of none other than Knife. "Holy shit, you guys, don't you have clothes?"

"What are the guys doing here?" I ask Blake, only to get a shrug in response.

"They're here for you. And they brought you your bike."

For me? What is that supposed to mean?

I can see the Alpha is as lost as I am, but the Knights know what's going on and they tell us to join them outside. Once we're in the clearing in front of the Alpha's house, Lia announces, loud enough for all wolves to hear, "Under the order of King Lorenzo Rey , Ted Creston is to be punished for disobeying a royal order. The penalty for noncompliance shall be decided by the person affected, a Shadow Warrior named Michael Stone. Any objections?" Damn, sis, you're hot when you're fierce. Though my Fox is cuter.

No wolf speaks up, knowing that going against Lia is not a good idea. Her will is the King's will - the ancient wolf can't say no to her to save his life.

I hide my surprise at the news that I'm the one who decides Ted's fate. I honestly thought it was a joke, but it looks like it's not. What should I do to the guy? Should I have him beaten by his own packmates? Should I have the Alpha exile him?

Well, why not both?

The Alpha turns to me with a determined look, clearly not interested in going against the king's order like Ted. I'm sure that whatever I tell him to do, he will comply.

Oh, Teddy, Teddy, Teddy, you've really made a huge mistake.

"I want Ted Creston exiled from the pack after getting a severe beating," I announce calmly, getting some shocked gasps from the crowd and some annoyed grumbles from the others. The ones unhappy about this are mostly older wolves, who are clearly not fans of humans, judging by the cold glares they send my brothers and Lia.

Well, too fucking bad. I don't care.

The Alpha only nods solemnly and accepts the punishment. "It shall be done."

Now we wait for Ted. I do remember Lia's aunt telling the guy that a surprise awaits him when he gets home. Did she mean this? Was this whole thing planned? If it was, then I need to thank Lorenzo.

I may have misjudged him, to be honest. I thought the promise he made was just that, a promise. I never expected him to keep his word and get personally involved in our affairs.
