Sick day

summary: Sirius takes care of Remus while he's sick.

Through the whole 5 years Remus Lupin had already completed at Hogwarts,he had never once gone to bed without reading atleast a chapter of a book.Until last night.Remus had spent the evening curled up beside his boyfriend,his eyes closed as he tried to focus on anything but the pounding pain in his head,not to mention the wheezing sound his chest made as he breathed which 9 times out of 10,was followed by a coughing fit.

He hadn't even gone down to dinner,insisting he was fine and just wanted to rest as he tried to hide his shivers.Of course that didn't work when Sirius felt him literally shake against his side. "moons,get yourself some rest.You're clearly not well" Sirius spoke softly as he stroked the boys hair.Remus was sat beside Sirius,his knees drawn up to his chest as he leaned against his boyfriends side,his head drooped on his shoulder. "i'm fine" Remus croaked.

Finally,after some convincing Remus stood up,walking up to the dormitory followed by a concerned Sirius,who was worried Remus might literally collapse and tumble back down the staircase.Remus pushed open the door,heading straight for his bed,Slipping on his pyjamas and a jumper before curling up under the thick covers.Sirius breathed a soft laugh at the sight of Remus who was almost fully submerged under the blankets and quickly got himself changed for bed,wearing a pair of pyjama pants paired with his favourite jumper (the one he definitely didn't steal from Remus and kept ever since)

Sirius made his way over to Remus' bed,grabbing the glass off of his bedside table "aguamenti" Sirius whispered before handing the glass to Remus who pulled himself to sit up,gratefully accepting the glass of water and drinking it immediately. "careful moony,don't drink it to fast.You'll make yourself sick" Sirius spoke and Remus handed him the glass before laying back down.Sirius brought a hand up to Remus' forehead who frowned at him. "pads i'm fine-" "moony.You're boiling!" Sirius spoke,concerned as Remus just shook his head. "no i'm not.i'm cold.now lie down with me and shut up" Remus gave him a weak but convincing smile and Sirius rolled his eyes,unable to keep the smile from creeping onto his face.

It didn't take long,only seconds in fact,for Remus to fall asleep,his head tucked into the crook of Sirius' neck,his arms wrapped around the smaller boys waist.Sirius however,layed with his arms wrapped around the sleeping boy,simply listening to his soft breaths for atleast an hour until he couldn't stay awake any longer.

When morning came around,Sirius squinted his eyes open,a scowl on his face as someone tapped him awake.He relaxed slightly when James came into view,although he stayed squinting at the new light that poured in from behind the curtain. "how is he?" James asked quietly and Sirius looked down at his sleeping boyfriend,placing a gentle hand on his forehead. "he won't admit he's sick.Look,feel his forehead,he's burning up and everything" Sirius whispered and James lifted a hand pressing it carefully against Remus' forehead before looking at Sirius. "what in merlins name are you two doing?" a voice croaked and James moved his hand off of the boys forehead. "how are you feeling?" Sirius asked almost immediately,Remus replied with a quiet "Mhm" bringing a hand up to cover his face from the bright daylight now covering the room.

"okay,James can you tell Mcgonagall that Remus can't come to lessons today and if she asks,you don't know where i am" Sirius spoke,keeping his tone soft even if Remus was now awake. "no no.i'm going" Remus grumbled as he sat up,immediately dropping his head into his hands with a groan. "Moons,you can't go to lessons like this" Sirius placed a hand on his shoulder as he sat up beside him. "Sirius is right,Moony.You can't go through a whole day of lessons like this" James added and Remus lifted his head up with a sigh. "i can and i am" Remus replied before slowly pushing himself to stand up.

As soon as Remus stood up,it was like all of the blood rushed to his head,which felt like it would explode.He stumbled slightly,grabbing onto the top of the four poster bed to steady himself. "woah.Moony lie down" Sirius spoke,standing up around the other side of the bed and walking around to stand by Remus. "i'm fine.just give me a second" remus held onto the wooden bedframe with one hand,the other rested against his forehead. "Remus Lupin if you do not get yourself back in this bed,i will not hesistate to tackle you and sit on you" Sirius crossed his arms and James nodded "he'll do it" Remus grunted and climbed back into his bed. "goodness moony,i'm meant to be the stubborn one" Sirius joked and Remus responded simply by flipping him off "i'll be back in a minute.Shout james if you need anything" Sirius kissed his boyfriends forehead before making his way out of the room,coming back moments later with two mugs of freshly made hot chocolates.

The rest of the day was spent with hot chocolate, big cozy jumpers,blankets and most importantly cuddles.Remus hated missing lessons and made James promise to take detailed notes for him and not just sit staring at lily in every class.Sirius however,spent the day in his favourite place (in bed of course) with his favourite person tucked up beside him,and he obviously showered his moony with love all day,getting him anything he needed or simply just stroking his hair while he slept soundly.
