Chapter 14

We finally arrived at Liam's parents house.

I don't know why, but I am so nervous. My hands started to shake. I swear sometimes they have a mind of their own.

Liam noticed my shaking hands and placed his large hand on one of my small hands

"Relax, they will love you" he said lightly smiling while staring into my eyes.

I took a shaky breath and nodded

"Good" he smiled and stepped out of the car

I followed him

"Here we go" I muttered under my breath before Liam opened the door to his parents home

You would think it would be a mansion, but no. It was more of a small house. It had a homey feeling on the inside.

"We are here" Liam hollered

Liam's parents came fast walking towards us

"It's so lovely to meet you" Liam's mom said warmly smiling at me

"It is so nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs Knight" I said politely

"Oh please, call me Bert" Liam's father said

"And call me Sofia" Liam's mother said

"Okay" I said shyly

"Now let's go have dinner" Sofia said making her way to the kitchen with Bert

"I told you they are nice" Liam whispered in my ear as we made our way to the kitchen

I shuddered from the feeling of his breath on my neck

"Yea you were right" I said looking up to him

"I am always right" he smirked

"Ya right" I scoffed

I sat down at a round wooden table while Liam sat next to me. Bert took a seat next to Liam while Sofia came in carrying lasagna.

"It looks amazing" I said

"It always is" Liam replied

"Aww thank you" Sofia said taking a seat next to me.

"Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to dig in" Bert said grabbing his fork and knife

We all laughed as we watched him cut himself a piece of lasagna.

Liam took my plate, and filled it with some lasagna shocking me.

I just sat there eyes wide open.

Liam returned my plate full of lasagna and looked at my expression

"What" he asked

"Um, um, nothing, thanks" I said looking away seeing Sophia watching us with amusement

Welp I'm going to just pretend nothing happened and eat my food

I took one bite and it was so good!

"This is amazing" I exclaimed

"Told you im always right" Liam replied

I glared at him while his parents laughed

10 minutes later

I took my plate over to the sink and then followed Liam to the door.

"It was so nice to meet you, Charlotte." Bert said

"It was great meeting you guys too" I smiled

"Are you sure you guys don't want to stay any longer" Sophia asked

"Ma, we are sure. I have work to do" Liam replied

"Work work work, that's all you ever  do" Sophia grumbled while I chuckled

"Come on son, stay a little longer. Are we not more important than your work" Bert asked

"Um" Liam said trying to think of a way to reply. It was clear he wanted to get home to do work, but didn't want to upset his parents.

"Dinner was delicious, but I'm really tired" I said

"At 7:30" Bert asked skeptically

Crap. It is 7:30

"Um yes, I didn't get much sleep last night" I said

Which was true I did wake up at 3 in the morning and went back to sleep after 2 hours.

"Oh, well Liam you better take her home" Sophia said sadly

"Sorry" I said

"No, no, you need your sleep" Bert said to me

"Okay, well goodnight I said walking out

Liam quickly followed me out.

"Thanks for helping me out, but I don't like you lying to my parents" he said sternly

"I didn't" I replied looking straight ahead

"You didn't sleep well last night" he asked as I got in his car

"Nope" I said popping the p

"You looked like you slept well" he said

"It took a lot of concealer and coffee to make it look that way"

"Oh" Liam said driving off

"Was it the bed" he questioned

"No, just woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep, happens sometimes. I'm used to it." I shrugged.

"Do you take any medicine" Liam asked concern lacing his words

Wait? Why is he concerned. He doesn't know me that well.

"No, I prefer it that way" I smiled at him

"Well, I have this recipe for a calming tea if you want it" he asked

"Sure, thanks"

"No problem" he said glancing at me

I smiled

I am enjoying living with his. He is actually pretty nice, same with his parents. And he is kinda cute.

Wait! Hold up! Nope! He is not cute no way. I don't like him

Sure keep telling yourself that

A voice inside my head taunted

Oh quiet. Let me be. I replied to myself like a totally normal person.

I don't want to fall for him. People close to me tend to hurt me and I don't need any more of that. Nope.

Him and I can just be friends, ya.
