10: Breaking Down & Fear

Taehyung was confused, totally confused. He couldn't help but think about that small boy.

"I'm the kinn of the wolled."

Those words kept floating in his mind.
He was sitting leaning towards the tree near the pack house with Jungkook who was laying with his head on Taehyung's lap. Taehyung kept running his fingers through Jungkook's hairs getting encouraging and satisfactory hums from Jungkook.
Was that child Jungkook? But how? He never knew him as a child. Then how can he dream about him. What is all this? Maybe he's just over thinking. But then again, why does every dream he sees steer up his emotions? Was he going crazy?

"Why are you getting all worked up?"

Jungkook asked opening his eyes.

"I'm not."

Taehyung lied.

"I can feel it you know."

Jungkook stared into the others eyes. He could see the confusion and anxiety in them.

"Is something bothering you?"

Yes. Taehyung wanted to say but instead he shook his head, Jungkook would probably laugh at him.
Jungkook sighed. He knew there was something. He knew something was going on with his mate. Every night he witnessed his mate crying, muttering and screaming in his sleep. Even though his presence would calm him down, he was worried.

"JUNGKOOK!"

They heard Hoseok screaming. He was running towards them, looking distressed.

"What? Why are you screaming?"

Jungkook asked sitting up.

"It happened again. They attacked. Many died. Many disappeared. Our pack mates were able to protect some, they survived. But more than half the pack is..."

he trailed off.

Jungkook fisted his hands, he gritted his teeth, growling under his breath, anger was radiating from him. Taehyung felt it, he was intimidated.

He might have ran way if he was not his mate and if he didn't know there was no better place safer than beside him.

So he stayed beside Jungkook and held his fisted hands. Snapping him out. Jungkook looked at his mate, he saw fear in his eye. He took a deep breath and calmed himself.

"When?"

Jungkook asked.

"Yesterday night. The head alpha of that pack was killed and worse, it's very close from here. Meaning we could expect an attack any moment."

Jungkook stood up pulling Taehyung with him.

"Tighten the security. I don't even want their shadow to appear here."

He barked out and began walking holding Taehyung close.

Jungkook dragged Taehyung into the house and locked them in their room. He paced back and forth. He was panicking. He was scared.

The memory of last time was eating him up. He can't let anything like that happen again. What if their motive was the same? What if they knew?

"Jungkook...."

Taehyung's meek voice brought him back to reality. He looked at his mate. Jungkook kept staring at him. His mate. His baby. His everything. He fell on his knees feeling weak all the sudden.

"Jungkook!"

Taehyung gasped and ran towards him seeing tears filling up in those eyes. He pulled Jungkook into a hug, holding him close to his chest, rubbing his back.

That was it for Jungkook, he broke down in his arms, crying his heart out.
Taehyung was shocked. He didn't know what to do. His heart ached. Tears flowed out of is own eyes.

"Shhh.Jungkook. Don't cry, everything will be okay. Please don't cry."

He cried along with him. He felt pain. He didn't know what made Jungkook breakdown like this. But it was something big. Something very big.
He broke the hug and cupped Jungkook's cheeks. Wiping the tears away with his thumbs. He kissed both his eyes. Jungkook sat there, surrendered. Taehyung leaned and pressed a sweet and gentle kiss on his lips, pouring all his love for him. The kiss had the salty taste of tears.

He pulled back and caressed Jungkook's cheeks who had his eyes closed.

"Jungkook...open your eyes."

Taehyung asked softly.

Jungkook slowly opening his eyes, his tears still spilling out of them. He was crying silently.

"Please stop crying. It's breaking me Jungkook. I want to see you smile. Not cry. I don't know what made you so vulnerable. But always remember this, no matter what happens I'll always be with you. I'll always hold your hand. I'll be there for you always."

Taehyung promised.

Jungkook bit down on his lips and squeezed his eyes shut. It was too much for him. He embraced his mate tightly in his arms tears flowing down uncontrollably.

Jungkook's grip was so tight that it was hurting Taehyung, but he let it slide, his mate was more important. Taehyung wrapped his own arms around him, holding him even closer.

"I love you baby... I love you so so much....please don't ever leave me."

Jungkook whispered in Taehyung's ears causing goosebumps to rise on his skin. His heart skipped a beat only for it to explode a second later in his chest. His mate loved him. His Jungkook loves him. What more did he want?
Taehyung snuggled against Jungkook and hid his face against Jungkook's neck. He couldn't stop grinning like a loon

"I love you Jungkook."

He whispered back and felt his chest swell up. He clutched on Jungkook tightly not daring to loosen his grip.
