Team RVER

Chapter 15

Team RVER was now back in Beacon Academy, a bullhead had picked them up the day before. Some teams from their batch were also back either because they took easy missions or were sent back due to other reasons. First-year students were able to take a break for the rest of the week if they came back early, at the expense of writing up an individual report about their mission. The said report was supposed to be submitted to Professor Goodwitch, who will grade them based on how they handled things within their mission, and then it will be passed on to their other instructors for them to grade the said report as well.

Team RVER was done with their report thanks to the help of Violet, who told them to make their reports and gave any missing information that the rest of the team needed. Each team member wrote down their own perspective of their mission in Anima and was able to submit their reports the following day after writing. While on their way back to their dorm room they saw Team CFVY, to which they began having a conversation about their missions

"In the beginning, it was all okay. That is until we came across an abandoned village." Violet answered before Rhys began to sign

"He said that there were a lot of things there that I would rather not mention. And I can agree with that statement." Everet said

"Yeah, we went to investigate it with the huntsman we were shadowing, then a huge horde of grimm came and it was all hectic." Rinni added

"And I cannot forget that we finally found out your semblance during that mission." Violet said

"Aw... Couldn't I keep that secret for an element of surprise?" Rinni uttered

"If you don't mind me asking, what is your semblance Rinni?" Yatsuhashi asked

"Well I can destroy things with a single touch, and I'm not talking about destroying it by smashing it to pieces, no, I'm talking about it turning into dust or nothingness. Of course with the destruction it attracts the creatures of grimm, so I tend not to use it too much or just use it in small increments."

"That's a rather powerful semblance..." Fox said

"And a dangerous one at that. So again, I don't really use it that much. My grandfather did train me to control it when I was a lot younger, to be honest." Rinni uttered

The two teams continued to talk about their own missions before parting ways by going into their respective dorm rooms. The next few days passed with teams returning from their own missions and writing up reports. It was now Monday and with the first-year students back, they now return to their classes. Team RVER is back to their usual antics in each of their classes. Professor Thumbelina Peach discussed more plant sciences, specifically the chemicals found within it. In Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck's class, they discussed more of Remnant's History, sometimes talking about certain missions of certain teams due to the location of their mission.

For their third period, Team RVER went their separate ways to different classes. Within Professor Peter Port's class, Violet partially pays attention to the professor's lecture, Rinni doodling and pretending to be taking notes, Everet and Rhys playing a game or two in secret, sometimes the two would try to get Rinni involved but she would decline their offer. Then they would go on to their next classes. Their combat class was a lecture based on the reports they submitted, with Professor Goodwitch talking about how they would have been more efficient in any battle they did. The bell rang signaling the class was finally over.

"Before you all go, I would like to remind you that for the next few days, we will still be talking about what happened in your missions. Tomorrow we'll be discussing the events that happened in Team RVER and Team CFVY's missions. While I would have liked you to have advanced knowledge of tomorrow's topic, please do not ask any member of the mentioned teams about what happened in their missions. As for Team RVER and Team CFVY, you are not allowed to give any information to your classmates about your missions. In the case you have told some previously, I would like you all to refrain from answering any more questions about it."

"Yes Professor Goodwitch" both teams said

"With that being said, you are all free to go."

The students began to leave the room, going back to their respective dorms or doing what they wanted to do. Team RVER decided that they'll just try to relax before heading off to dinner and calling it a day. The next day the first-year students of Beacon Academy went on with their day, going to their classes and so on. Upon reaching combat class, they all sat down and waited for their professor. Teams were talking about what could have possibly happened during Team RVER and CFVY's missions. After a few minutes, Professor Goodwitch entered the class and the students fell silent. Their professor soon began to discuss details of the missions, before saying what team CFVY had done during their mission.

Professor Goodwitch gives feedback on what the team could have done better and/or praises them for what they did. Occasionally a student or two would stop the discussion to ask a question or two, but nonetheless, everyone paid attention. Soon enough, Team CFVY's mission was done being discussed, and now it was Team RVER's turn. Once again, Professor Goodwitch gave the class the mission details before discussing what happened during the mission. Once again answering any questions that the students had during so.

"Now according to the report of each team member of Team RVER, they spotted a house that had little to no debris around it despite the damage the said house had sustained. When they decided to investigate, the only thing they saw inside was a mere broken toy that seemed to be covered in blood. Afterward, Ms. Bellereve became incapacitated due to a headache"

Some people snickered after hearing the reason causing the Professor to pause and tell everyone to be quiet before continuing

"Now before any of you laugh at this, the reason for this headache according to the reports, the abandoned village they found was where Ms. Bellereve originated from. So it would not be a surprise if repressed memories surfaced in a rush, thus overwhelming her. A normal thing for huntsmen or huntresses who suffered trauma and most likely get a post-traumatic stress episode. Trauma is real children, no matter how old you are when you experience it, it will follow you throughout your life. Going back to the discussion, a large amount of Grimm soon came and attacked them. Mr. Carlson and Mr. Exley were the initial defenders while Ms. Edola tried to help Ms. Bellereve. Upon seeing the danger her teammates were in, Ms. Bellereve jumped into action, foolishly leaving her weapon behind and using her semblance, and because of that more creatures of grimm came to their location. But lucky for them, the huntsman they were shadowing came to their aid after Mr. Carlson shot a signal arrow."

"Professor Goodwitch, why would grimm suddenly go to their location because Rinni used her semblance?" asked a random student in the class after the said Professor noticed their hand was raised

"Ms. Bellereve, do you mind if their question is answered?"

"No Professor, and if I may, please let me answer their question. Much better if they hear it from the source than someone else."

"Very well, go ahead Ms. Bellereve"

"I don't really show or use my semblance that much due to one reason. My family doesn't really allow me to use it because of the danger it can impose. My semblance allows me to destroy things with a simple touch, this destruction can attract creatures of grimm due to the high negativity it has."

"So... Can your semblance kill anyone?" another random student asked

"I'm not sure. I mean if I can destroy a creature of grimm with just one touch, maybe I can. But like I said, I'm not really allowed to use my semblance. The only exception is in emergencies. My team was in trouble and if I didn't use my semblance at that time... things may have been a lot worse. They didn't have time to defend themselves nor did I have time to pick up my weapon and block an attack. So I did what I had to do."

The professor then called the attention of all the students once more, stopping them from questioning Rinni further. But that was far from the truth, after the class was over some students approached Rinni in order to ask her about her semblance, some went to ask the other members of the team about their mission, and so on. The day ended with Team RVER passing out in their beds, being mentally and emotionally exhausted.
