Chapter 36

After finding out the truth, the two went back to Rinni's place. They had both agreed to acknowledge that they were siblings but decided to keep their current names and adoption dates. They also acknowledge that it will take some time to get used to the idea of being biological siblings, but they know they will get used to it. It took them days but they did make it back to the home of the Bellereves.

Rinni Bellereve was immediately hugged by her siblings upon arrival before sending them inside upon noticing her grandfather watching them. Rinni approached him and told him what she and Rhys Carlson found out. Borra Storm Bellereve was shocked to hear that his granddaughter had a biological brother, a fraternal twin to be exact and that it was her teammate. They were so close to one another and they didn't know their true relation until the revelation. What surprised him more was the news of the passing of Kiona Fiore Bellereve and John Aiden Scarlet-Bellereve.

"You know what that means right?" Borra asked Rinni

"Yeah..."

"And you're now responsible for this family as its head." Borra added"I know... But Grandpa... How am I going to tell two kids that their parents are dead?"

"You don't and I hope you never have to do that. Don't forget, they were your parents too, which means you're a Bellereve. You may not be blood but you're still their daughter. My granddaughter. Their oldest. I'll go break the news to the two, try to ease them into it."

Rinni's tears finally flowed after holding in her emotions all day. Borra brought his eldest granddaughter into a hug, letting the teen cry. Rhys held his sister's right hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, silently telling her that he was there for her.

"You two better be prepared to stay up late for a few nights." Borra said after Rinni calmed down.

The twins both nodded as they watched Borra step inside the house to talk to the two young faunus inside. Rinni wiped away the remnants of tears on her face before facing ahead with Rhys following her action. The two teens sat on the porch steps, watching the sunset.

"How do you think the two would have reacted if they also found out we're twins?"

Rhys was silent for a bit before signing to Rinni that they would have probably freaked out, and maybe helped get a test to confirm it even more. The brown-eyed teen just laughed and agreed. The door slammed open as Rinni felt her siblings run to her and cry in her arms, begging her to be just lying. The teen just hugged them tightly saying sorry as the two cried more after confirming it to them. Rinni and Rhys helped each other carry the two children who had drained their energies from weeping, causing them to go unconscious. That night, the two didn't sleep even when they lay on their respective beds.

A few days passed and now they were going to be holding a funeral ceremony. It was hard for them since there was no body to bury, meaning the whereabouts of corpses of the two fallen members of the Bellereve family remains to be found. Per family tradition, Rinni led the proceedings of the funeral, seeing as she now leads her family as she was the oldest next of kin despite being adopted. It also didn't help that at a later time they heard about the death of the headmaster of Haven Academy, Leonardo Lionheart. Sadly, the world doesn't stop moving because you're grieving.

Right now, Rinni and her family, including Rhys, are in the Mistral Central Station about to send off her younger siblings, Niyebe Roho Bellereve and Melyn Fiore Bellereve to Argus to continue studying in Sanctum Academy. The two children hugged their grandfather tightly as they said their goodbyes. Rhys tapped Rinni's shoulder and signed.
