Envy's eyes

Envy's eyes a greenish hue,
Narrowed and squinting in the light,
Always looking for what's new,
To bring others down from their height.

Jealousy is a poison,
That seeps into their bones,
It eats away at their happiness,
It weighs them down like stones.

My blessings are a target,
For their malice and their spite,
They can't see past their own darkness,
And appreciate their own light.

I have to try my best,
And hold my head up high,
For their envy is not my burden,
And their judgment is just a lie.
