✰ this style of gyaru originated around the mid 90s and peaked around the year 2000, mainly in shibuya and ikebukuro. the aim of ganguro is mostly to rebel against traditional japan and its strict roles. ganguro stood for individuality, self-expression, and boldness.
features of ganguro gyaru •
♪ dark, tanned skin, or medium tans.
♪ bright white makeup on lips, eyes, or nose.
♪ bold and bright expressive colors.
♪ facial stickers/decoden.
♪ decorated and colorful nails.
♪ bright hair with colorful streaks, often blonde hair.
♪ loud and childish accessories.
♪ less outfit coordination.
