Airbells

Airbells are large green plants found near Awa'atlu.

Habitat: Eastern sea.

This plant resembles a group of seaweeds. Airbells grow from the seabed and climbs up with long stems reaching several dozen or even several hundred meters in length. It is topped with an oval bell-shaped bladder, hence the name. This bell is open at the bottom and has an air pocket inside.

Anemonid

Na'vi name: Fngapsutxwll meaning; "metal-following plant".

Taxonomy: Pennanemone ciliare - leafy anemoid.

This carnivorous pandora plant obtains most of its nutrition from other organisms rather than making its own through photosynthesis. The flattened, large meristem on the top of the plant is covered with a sticky, aromatic substance that attracts insects, that are trapped quickly once they land. Digestive enzymes on the plant's surface then break down the insect bodies to obtain nitrogen and other essential elements. This plant's roots absorb metals (including unobtanium) from the soil rather than the typical mineral elements needed for plant growth. This gives the plant the ability to move in response to a magnetic field, which was named magnetonasty by the first scientists who studied this behavior. The anemonids will turn and lean toward anyone walking by carrying a metal object.
