“Leo!” I woke up to hear my father calling for me. I opened my jaws, letting out a giant yawn. I carefully slid around my mother and the other lionesses and cubs, making sure not to wake them up. Liana, my sister, was already up grooming herself as usual. She nodded to me as I passed by. I ran out of the den towards my father, standing on Fiercerock.
“Hi, Dad!” I said.
“Good morning son,” he rumbled. “I want you to look towards the sunrise,” I turned to look towards the sun and tipped my head curiously, wondering why I was supposed to be looking at the sun.
“Remember, everything within reach of light and life is your kingdom.” he said in a deep voice with a hint of pride. I nodded but at the back of my mind I was thinking about what my friends and I would do today. “Always know that you will never be alone, my son.” he said.
“Now, why don’t you go and have some fun,” he said, blinking at me.
“Ok, Dad!” I ran off to wake up Amara and Ayan.
