Bailey Foord, the younger sister of Caitlin Foord, was following very closely in her sister's footsteps and was on track to become just as big of a star as her sister.  Caitlin, 21, was in America playing for Portland Thorns.  Bailey was 2 weeks away from her 18th birthday and was was about to sign her first professional contract with a team in Australia, all she had to do was wait for her 18th birthday.

She was stuck between two clubs and knew she would have to make her decision shortly. Her parents were driving her home from her last club game before turning pro and Bailey decided she needed some help with her decision.  She started the discussion with both of them and before she knew her parents were helping her make a full pros and cons list for each of the teams in question.  She couldn't have been more thankful for her parents in that moment. But that's the thing about moments, they only last a second.

"I think I've made my decision guys!"

"Where ya going!?" Both of her parents said taking a glance in the backseat at her smiling

"I'm going to play for...."

But before Bailey could finish her sentence she saw two bright headlights looking right at her through the front windshield. Bailey got one last glance at her parents before she heard a loud crash and everything went black.

The next sound she heard when she regained consciousness was the sound of beeping.  The first feeling was pain, everywhere, but especially in her knee.  The first smell was strawberries.  Strawberries? Only Caitlin uses strawberry shampoo.

Bailey's eyes opened immediately after that to seeing her sister curled into her side, sleeping, but it had been obvious she was crying beforehand.  Bailey tried to sit up straighter, but felt a rush a pain through her stomach that made her cry out in shock.

"Bailey? Bailey! Omg you're awake!" Caitlin's big blue eyes staring at her with relief, but Bailey saw the second her eyes turned to grief and worry not soon after.

"What happened?"

"You don't remember?"

"No I don't - " Before she could finish her sentence a rush of memories flooded her brain. Her last game. The talk about her teams. Her parents. The car crash. HER PARENTS!

"Cait are they okay? Where's mom and dad?"

"Bales..."
"No! Where are they!"
"They didn't make it" Caitlin said in a whisper

All of a sudden Bailey's heart rate monitor sky rocketed and she was clearly struggling to breath. The nurses came in and gave her a sedative that made her drift off to sleep.

The next couple of weeks were rough for both girls.

Bailey kept blaming herself for the accident and on top of that, she found out that the damage to her knee was too severe. She would be able to walk again, but playing a professional sport was out of the question.

Caitlin on the other hand buried all of her emotions as she tried to comfort her sister and take care of two funerals.
