Quick update :D

I would just like to say, I'm a massive optimist, nothing less. So of course, naturally, I've tried to make light of all the chapters I've wrote so my book isn't as angsty as the canon TV show...

...Now this chapter is literally the furthest thing from canon you could expect. So on that note, I'm gonna leave you with this short
filler and make of it what you will.

F O U R T E E N | BELLAMY BLAKE'S WEAKNESS

When Carter asked Bellamy if they could slyly get out of Tondc, this wasn't what she had in mind.

"Jesus Christ!" She yelped, tripping over yet another loose root in the ground. If she still possessed the ability to see, she would have known where to step. But, Bellamy had decided it would be such a great idea to blindfold Carter so she didn't know where they were going. 'It's a surprise' was his exact words. "I swear to god if I almost trip again I'm gonna-"

Carter was suddenly cut short as she walked straight into something with an oomph. At first, she thought it was a tree, but then she figured it was too soft to be a tree, but in fact it was Bellamy Blake. She staggered back to regain her balance, but giving the fact that she was temporarily blind, it was easier said than done. Luckily, two large hands grabbed her shoulders to support her.

A low growl emitted from her throat. "I'm gonna punch you in the face. This is one of your worst ideas yet, Bell." She sighed loudly and her shoulders deflated. "Please can you take this blindfold off me, I kind of really need my eyes."

"Relax, you wanted to get out of the village and I'm helping you." Bellamy defended.

"Your definition of helping me is a little warped..." Carter mumbled. She knew the former leader was doing it all in good intentions. He knew that Carter didn't want to see anymore death, even if it was Gustus, so he had just the plan to cheer her right up.

Only problem was, he didn't want her to see the location until they were there.

"We're almost there, just trust me." Bellamy uttered as he grabbed her hands and began to lead her through the forest again.

"You mean, you want me to trust you after we fell over three times and you allowed me to walk into a tree?" Carter raised her eyebrow, though she knew he couldn't see it. "Oh yeah, I'm really trusting you."

"Quit being dramatic." Carter would bet her life that Bellamy rolled his eyes as he said that.

"I'm not being dramatic," Carter denied, not bothering to hide her annoyance. "I'm just-" The engineer was yet again cut off as she stumbled over something else that stuck out of the ground. That was it. She shook Bellamy's hand off her own and came to an abrupt stop, reaching up to take the fucking blindfold off her eyes before she ended up tripping and breaking her neck, or something equally as dramatic. Before she could aggressively rip the piece of fabric off her eyes, Bellamy slapped her hand away.

"Carter, no."

"Bellamy, yes."

"You'll ruin the surprise." Bellamy defended lamely, slapping her hand away again.

"You sound like a little kid." Carter mumbled begrudgingly, pouting slightly.

"Says the one that's just about to have a tantrum." Bellamy scoffed.

"I'm not about to have a- ah!" Carter fell forward again, but this time no hands saved her and she fell head first into Bellamy's chest. Now, that might sound like it would hurt less than face-planting the floor, but Bellamy's chest was surprisingly hard. And her nose was the first thing to hit, followed by the rest of her body. Fortunately, Bellamy managed to steady the both of them before the pair fell in a bundle on the floor. As soon as Carter found her balance, her hands flew up to cradle her nose. "Dammit Bellamy!"
