If there was one thing Amaya hated it was her half sister Isabella or Bella as the girl had screeched at her when they were 14, the mousy brown haired girl was just nasty to Amaya, when they were young Bella would trash Amayas room, stealing and breaking things even trying to lie to their father saying Amaya had stole from her
Charlie of course didn't believe his other child knowing Amaya wouldn't want anything of Bella's considering they had very different styles and personalities and taste for things and Amaya honestly disliked Bella very much
The bad blood started when they were young maybe it was Renee feeding her child views and opinions that weren't the nicest or even the smartest but what can you do, or maybe it was because Bella could see how much her father loved another child who wasn't her but once when they were younger and Bella had came to visit she had pushed Amaya off the swings, she pushed so hard that when Amaya got up her knees and hands were pink instead of her beautiful chocolate brown
Charlie seeing this immediately brought them home while scolding Bella, when they got home he called Renee and had her come pick Bella up saying he didn't want to see her this weekend and she needed to work on her behavior since that was the fourth strike during her visit
Renee of course tried fighting Charlie saying Bella was a precious Angel and wouldn't do that but Charlie knew that there was something a little off about his other daughter's behavior towards Amaya something he didn't like, it unsettled him and made him extremely protective of Amaya when Bella was around
So when ever Bella was around Charlie made sure to always be on guard and never leave them in the same room unattended unless he absolutely needed to, though after Bella stopped visiting when she turned 14 the two other Swans practically forgot about her unless someone would bring her up and ask how she was doing but it was little to none as the towns people didn't like Bella that much either
It was a cloudy day when Charlie got the call, the call that would change the Swan duo and the Cullens lives, the call Charlie and Amaya dreaded
Charlie was sitting in his recliner nursing a beer while watching Deadliest Catch when the home phone rang, with a groan he let it ring until it stopped but then it started again, once again he let it ring, but a few seconds later it rang again, with a louder groan he put his beer on the coffee table before making his way to the phone
With a huff he answered annoyed "Hello" He spoke, his gruff voice filled with annoyance "Hey Charlie it's Renee" A voice on the other side said, Charlie paused and narrowed his eyes in thought as he tried to think about who Renee was "I'm sorry who" He asks after a few minutes of not being able to come up with anyone
There was a pause from the other side and all Charlie could hear was heavy breathing, making him cringe "Renee your ex wife" The voice said annoyed and slightly angry, to him her jaw sounded clenched "Oh right right" Charlie says in realization scratching the back of his head
