Mark x Ruby stuff (On Command Au)

Story 8 pt. 2: Succession

Such a peaceful morning today. The birds are singing, flowers are blooming (Don't mind the reference, lol.), and fresh air flying by the trees as they sway and leaves accompanying the wind. The young adults in the On Command house sound the morning with the sound of yawns. On Command has risen from their slumber. Vade was the first to come down to prepare the team's hearty meal. The rest soon follow after the meal is properly prepared. CJ wakes up by the scent of something delicious and finds Vade.

CJ: Man, what's that good smell...? Oh, morning, Vade.

Vade: Oh, good morning, babe! I just finished preparing our breakfast.

CJ: Ey! Bacon and Pancakes! Awesome!

This immediately energize CJ. Mark came to the table with his coffee prepared, Max and Abel still feel sleepy but gets pumped up after seeing their breakfast, and the girls also arrived who just finished combing their hair. Olley's AI robot assistant, Lighty, also prepare their drinks for the morning.

CJ: Hey, thanks, Lighty!

Olley: Thanks, Lighty!

Lighty: Your welcome, master.

It finishes with a beep. The rest dig in to their delicious breakfast and they all love the combination of the two tasty treats. 

CJ: Mmmm! So good! You're the best at cooking, babe! Thanks!

Vade: Anything to lightening up the mood every morning.

She shows a sweet smile as she enjoys the meal. The rest agreed. Mark is just looking at the newspaper for any interesting news about what's happening to their city currently. He finds nothing of interest at first, but one article got his attention. Ruby's parents were targeted by the police after surveillance footages from the mall caught the scene of the parents and On Command confronting each other. He remembers what happened after that; during this incident, after the parents escaped, the police arrived after they escaped as the group revealed them to what happened to Ruby because of them and asks them to catch them. He's happy that they'll finally get what they deserve, but when he reads further, his expression of content changed into one of shock and confusion. When they found out where they live and look inside, they're nowhere to be found. They have a detective on their side to inspect the area, but still found nothing and no sign of either of the two. All they found is an old and destroyed room with a fist-sized hole. When they inspected the area and checked the hole and the cracks, the detective came into a worrying conclusion that there's a possibility that the parents did this out of rage. If that were the case, they aren't normal people. This dropped Mark's soul entirely and looked at Ruby with a very worried face. They really don't seem normal and he knew they'll come back for her. Faith, who sat next to him, notice his face.

Faith: Uh... Mark? Are you okay?

Mark: Huh? Oh...

Mark knew he needs to let his friends know as he knew at anytime, the parents might come and pounce on them once they're in their vulnerable state. He's about to speak up, but a loud beeping noise alarmed the rest of the group. Lighty picked up a disturbance calling from one part of the city that they're under attack by robots. CJ groans.

CJ: Again? It's the middle of the morning! Why doing this so early?

Vade: I dunno, but if Briant still wants to mess with us, let's mess up his morning attacks.

Faith: Alright, let's take them down!

Mark sighs. I guess he should tell his friends about the issue later after they defeat Briant annoying robots. The gang transform into their suits and goes off to the city. When they found the robots, they notice some difference. It doesn't almost look like it's destroying. It looks like they're littering more than destroying and there's only about 3 robots in the area. CJ is the first to take action, but the robot casually grab him and throws him in a nearby garbage dumpster. He gets back up, really ticked off.

CJ: Okay, very uncool to throw me in the dumpster!

He jumps off the dumpster and the rest soon follow, but as Faith tries whipping them with her tentacles, the grabbed each of them and cut them off. Faith backs up as Mark assist in. He starts to fight one of the robots, but seems to memorize his attacks very well. Same goes for Faith and Vade, but what wonders them is the robots targeting Ruby of all the On Command team. Ruby has been holding them off for a while before they decide to team up against the robots, defeating the three in the process. CJ looks at the robot with confusion as Mark inspects them. They fought robots that can memorize their attacks and can take them on well with some ease. They all look at each other with concern in their faces.

CJ: This really isn't a good sign, is it? I mean, we fought robots all the time, but never these kinda robots.

Mark: Briant has been improving the robots surprisingly well. Guess he watches our moves well.

Vade: One observant guy. At the same time, if he's gonna use them more often, we have to be prepared for that kinda thing.

Faith: Geez, he really wants us dead. And rule the world, too.

CJ speaks to himself.

CJ: Well, mostly wants *me* dead...

Meanwhile, Briant watched the whole fight unfold before the robots get destroyed.

Briant: Huh... They can overpower my robots...

Shine: Yet with some difficulties. And we only sent out 3 robots.

Briant: We found some good results.

The two figures show up and looks at the computer. Briant proudly presents them the results.

Briant: We got some good results from this little test we have. Just 3 newly made robots gave them some difficulties. This is perfect! We're one step closer!

Shine let's out an evil chuckle. The White Spirit and Pandemonium smiles at the plan.

Pandemonium: Great! Let's do this tonight!

White Spirit: So shall we proceed?

Briant: We shall... But before this, we'll need a bit more power...

Night has fallen. The sun sets into a deep slumber. The rest of On Command just finished their training. Another alarming beeping noise from Lighty starts to call them and, ready as ever, they set off to track them down, only this time, there's no commotion around. They look around for a while before getting ambushed by the same modified robots.

CJ: Sh*t!

Mark: Incoming attack!

On Command tried to fight them off with all they got, but the numbers of the robots quickly overwhelmed them. One got to grab ahold of Ruby, catching the rest off guard. Mark charges in to try attack the robot, but one of them ambushed him and throws him into a building, knocking him out unconscious and beaten. CJ was about to assist in retreating when a robot came on and tased him down. The other robots did the same to the remaining members. With it, On Command... is defeated...

Modified Robot: On Command, captured. Status: Unconscious. Bring them back to the warehouse.

Ruby was struggling to break free from the grip, but it was no use. The rest of the members are down and even if she did escape, she stood no chance.

Ruby: No! You can't do this! I'm not allowing you to-

She was cut off by the robot spraying knock-out gas on her face, making her unconscious. They picked up the members and starts to go to Briant's base. With Briant and Shine, they watched through the robots' screens. He succeeded... At last...! His heart raise in joy. His ego boosted from the victory he so-long wish to get. The two laugh in an evil manner. The parents watched it, too. They're happy with the success of their plan. And also, there are people who're awake during this. Their hearts dropped, their spine shakes, their feeling grow in fear. If there's one thing they know... They're all doomed...
