Goa special - 4

Shekhar's POV

We were at the dinner hall. It was a buffet.
Me, Shaurya and Saurav (a colleague) were sitting at one table.

I kept looking at Shaurya who was busy eating his Dal Makhani and rice with a bit pasta on the side dish. He'll eat that at end I guess.

After sometime he noticed my eyes on him and said with annoyance, "whaaat?? What are you staring at? Anything on my face?"

I shook my head as no.

"Then?? It's making me ..."
"What?"
"Conscious!"

Few minutes later Saurav got up and left. And now I finally asked.

"Did you accept it?"
"Accept what?"
"Anushka's follow request."

He looked at me with semi-wide eyes.
"Uh..."
"Don't uhh me. What's goin on?"
"Nothing what the fuck? We sat together and got to know eachother and out of modern day decency she might've sent me the request. Which by the way I haven't accepted yet cause I didn't know until now."

I looked at him with one eyebrow arched.

He took out his phone to check and I swear I saw a small smile at the corner of his lips!

"There. Accepted it."
"Accepted it?"
"Am I supposed to be rude and ignore it?"

Good point.

Meanwhile...

Gauri's POV

God knows which corner he chose to sit at. I can't see him!

I played around with the rice on my plate with disappointment written all over my expressions.

I'm expressive. Very.

Shakira's hips and my face don't lie!

I glanced over at Anushka who kept looking at her phone anxiously.

"What's wrong?"
"Hmm?  Nothing." She answered.
"Something's off. Any text you waiting for?"

I asked teasingly and she rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"No!"
"Then why you so restless right now?"
"Ugh shut up."

Just then her notification went off. It was the instagram default one.

And she checked it so quickly and suddenly smiled.

"Aye what? What? Why you smile??" I asked out of very sheer curiosity.
"Nothingg!" She couldn't stop smiling even though she tried.

"Anushka! We're friends no?"
"Yes we are."
"Then what got you smiling like that? Oh wait... who got you smiling like that? Is it ... Shaurya?!"

I gasped as I asked.

And her smile widened.

It was windy outside.

I stepped out to walk and it was soothing. The stars were visible tonight and so was the moon!

I kept thinking about Anushka's story. Cute.

"Gauri??" I heard someone call out my name from behind and when I turned around to see who it was, my heart skipped a beat.

"Oh shekhar? Hii"
He jogged towards me
"Hey, taking a stroll?"
I nodded with a smile as response.

"It's windy.."
"Yeah.."

We slowly walked in silence for few minutes

"Oh and, did you hear anything from ... Anushka? You kn-"
"About Shaurya?"
"Yes!"

We smiled.

"What do you think?" I asked
"He's an awkward guy so I don't know"
"I think he's cute. And so is Anushka."

He smiled at me

"Well I know someone who's cuter"
"Who?"

"You."

Fuck.

I laughed and said, "that was so cringe Shekhar."

He giggled. But oh boy. That felt great. It was a bit cringe but... he called me cute?!!!

Shekhar's POV

I hope it wasn't that cringe.

Oh it was wasn't it

Gaaaaahhhh

But atleast she smiled. But I didn't lie did I?

Silence filled between us again. Why does it always happen? Why we have nothing to keep blabbering about?

Gauri's  POV

It was getting colder somehow and I started rubbing my palms together.

"Cold?" He asked
"Yeah I don't know why suddenly."

For few seconds I felt his gaze on me.

"What happened?" I asked
He then extended his hands and took my hand and kept it in his sweatshirt pocket.

"You'll feel warmer."

I think my heart just did a little " !!!!! "

A/N: My loveliessss!!! Sorry this was such a long break! But I'm back! My hostel does not have good wifi and college is so hectic that its hard finding time and my exams were going on as well!
