Basically he can control the others against their will, so their like puppets to him. They can't get out of it due to getting threatened of extermination.
He only does this because of an accident that happened ages ago. He malfunctioned on stage one day and accidently killed a child, and despite knowing that he had malfunctioned the others yelled at him and Ft Foxy damaged his right eye (the covered one, but you can see a little of the scratch)
Also I ain't saying how he got powers cos my brain don't wanna function rn it too tired =^= (also I never thought that far ahead, just think Golden Freddy cos he got powers)
The other reason I thought of as to why he did (so two AUs for one design) it is cos of him being jealous that he was never allowed to perform with the others, and they never put in requests for him to do so despite saying multiple times that he'd be good on stage.
