"why won't you come? you said you would.." Dohyun's voice spoke from the other side of the call "I can't, dohyun.. my boss needs me- I'll have to get off, bye" "b-but-" before he could form a proper sentence you cut the call
"your boss needs you, huh? That Jeon-" he banged the table as anger took the best of him "why is he coming between us? why are you letting him?" dohyun continued to speak to himself
on the other hand, you finally got out of the cab and made your way inside the huge building that now stood in front of you
'take a deep breath, y/n. you're about to do something huge'
you encouraged yourself before going inside. "Hoyeon.." the girl looked behind her as she heard a familiar voice call her name
"y/n!" she chirped and paced towards you before engulfing you in a warm hug which you gladly accepted "I need your help with something really important" you said as she looked at you with confused eyes
"yeah, sure.. what is it?" she said making you look around "can we go to your office?" you asked which she immediately nodded to "ofcourse, come with me" she said and you both made your way inside her office
"what is it that you need my help with?" She asked as you sat down on a chair in front of her desk while she sat on hers
you took some papers out from your bag before passing them to her. she took the paper from you and began to scan it "what are these, y/n?" she asked
"The proof of 'Lee's Fashion' doing illegal work and all the complaints about the company" you stated making her eyes wide
"where'd you find these?" she asked, now skimming through the papers "I noticed a few months ago that they were growing quite fast and that seemed abnormal to me. I went on their page to do some research and saw that many people were unhappy about their products. so, when I tried to see the id or to find out more about the comments, the comments were soon enough deleted by the company" you explained while Hoyeon listened to each of your words very carefully
"but how come that went unnoticed?" hoyeon questioned making you continue "when people noticed their honest reviews were being removed, they decided to confront the company face to face. but the company paid no head to them and when they complained that they'll involve police, the company threatened them using their illegal business's power so, no one was able to stand up against them" you finished your explanation and pointed towards the dozen of papers "they have everything you need in them"
"do you want me to share it to the news and media world?" Hoyeon questioned making you roll your eyes at her "no, hoyeon! I just wanted to tell you these because they were a nice gossip topic" you sarcastically said before snapping at her
"oh come on, hoyeon. why else would I come to you?" you playfully glared at her making her let out a chuckle "alright alright. don't worry now, your hoyeon-ie has got all of it covered" she winked at you making you shake your head in disbelief "thanks, hoyeon" you smiled to her and bid each other goodbye before finally leaving for your home as it was already past nine pm now
'today was a really hectic day. I hope I'll be able to see his smile tomorrow morning'
plopping your tired figure on the comfy bed of yours, you soon enough drifted off to dreamland
Time skip
"you're finally here?" you looked up to see Taehyung standing in front of you "yeah, I am.." you smiled before focusing back on your work again "you have absolute zero idea on how angry you made jungkook yesterday" he informed which for some reason made you gulp
"he has the rights to be angry, I guess.." Taehyung couldn't help but to scoff at what you just said "y/n, you're out of your mind-" the intercom went off making you both look at it "why don't you come inside with me and witness Jungkook's happiness?" you suggested but Taehyung just looked at you being dumbfounded "he hasn't even properly talked since yesterday" you bit your lower lip before entering your boss's offer
"sir, you called?" his head rose up hearing your voice "you remember you have a official life?" his voice reflected taunting making you sigh
"Mr. Jeon, I know what I did was wrong but-" "if you did know then why did you do that?" he growled while his figure towered over you
"t-turn on the TV, please" you requested making him raise a brow of his "for what? to see my failure?" his voice raised again but you tried your best to keep yourself together "sir, please just do it for once" you pleaded making him roll his eyes before he took steps back little to grab the remote
"fine. as it is your last request to me" confusion took over you hearing his mumble but the scene of him turning the TV on took you out of the thought
the news kept on playing as you both stared at the screen while you prayed to God for the thing you were waiting for to come up
Jungkook's patience came to an as he rolled his eyes over to your figure "what?" you snapped your head towards him "you just wanted to waste my time, didn't you-" he got cut off when he heard the reporter saying something that made his eyes widened and immediately snap his head towards the TV screen and you did the same too
"It is now in that the CEO of 'Lee's Fashion', Mr. Lee Sungcheol and his team is being arrested for getting caught doing illegal business and for selling unauthorized products and.." so it continues, the list of his crimes
you felt your heart finally at ease now "and the most important news is that 'Jeon's OutWear' is still ruling the fashion industries. It never went off track. according to the rule of the charts, you have to be at the top for atleast one entire day but the Lee's failed to do so and also for charting illegally. We can happily announce that the 'Jeon's OutWear' is still the top fashion brand rulling South Korea for more than 20 years!" just as soon as the reporter delivered the last line, a wave of cheer came from the outside of the office indicating that the other employees were informed about the happy news
a smirk grew on your lips when you heard him stutter "h-how?" "It's just that I decided to use my brain instead of 'grumpying' around-" but before you could complete your sentence and fully turn around, you were engulfed in a tight hug
your body stiffened when you realized that you were now in the warm embrace of your boss
but your eyes widened when you felt the fabric covering your shoulder, the shoulder where his head was laid on, getting wet
