Tonight's the night! A young girl ran through the magical house searching for her best friend, the one they were celebrating tonight.

“Mira! Mirabel!” The young girl called out as she searched up and down.

Her (e/c) orbs stopped on a certain Madrigal's door and she bit her lip as she debated knocking on it. Brushing her nerves off she ran towards the door and knocked gently on it.

“Isaiah!” She called out as she continued to knock obsessively on the door after getting no answer.

After another twenty seconds of loud knocking, the door swung open, revealing a tan eleven year old boy with shoulder-length black hair. His face held great annoyance as he looked down at the slightly smaller girl.

“What do you need (Y/N)?” He questioned, raising a single perfect brow.

Her big eyes tried to look behind the older boy, “I-Is Mirabel here?”

He scoffed and shook his head, “Why would she be here? She's got her ceremony tonight.”

The eight year old girl made an “oh” expression on her face and quickly smiled up at the boy, “Thank you, Isaiah! I'll look for her in her room!”

(Y/N) turned on her heel and began to run away towards Mirabel's room, but before she could get far a vine wrapped around her ankle and began dragging her backward.

“ISA!” (Y/N) squealed and giggled as the vine lifted her upside down before setting her feet in front of the boy.

He sighed with a certain look in his eyes, “Honestly (Y/N), you can't just barge into her room. Just stay with me and you can see her after the ceremony.”

The girl pouted but agreed none of the less.

Thirty minutes later, we see the young madrigal and (Y/N) at the bottom of the stairs watching the five year old Mirabel step out and begin her walk to the top of the stairs.

Isaiah had his arm wrapped around her shoulder as (Y/N) watched her best friend with eager eyes, eager to see what gift she would be blessed with.

Mirabel reached the top of the stairs and smiled up at her Abuela. She then reached her small hand towards the doorknob and then…

10 years later

A eighteen year old (Y/N) was seen in the village with a dead plant in her hand. The village was bustling with life as tonight is Antonio's gift ceremony and everyone was getting ready for it.  Yet she noticed her best friend Mirabel singing and entertaining the young kids of the village, teaching them all about the amazing Madrigals.

“My older siblings…”

“ISAIAH AND LUISA!” The village cheered startling (Y/N) as they stopped to join in.

“One strong, one graceful. Perfect in everyway! Mirabel sang, describing her older siblings.

Abuela Alma gave her oldest grandson a kiss on the cheek as he wore a perfect smile on his face. His hair now tied back and mid back length with a few purple flowers decorating it.

With graceful movement, he twirled in place, letting his flowers spread around the village square. The villagers chanted his name as he worked his magic.

“Grows a flower, the town goes wild.” Mirabel sang, “He's the perfect golden child.”

Isaiah smirked softly as he spinned over to an unamused (Y/N), “Mi Sol, when will you learn to stop trying to grow stuff?” He teased as he waved his hand the dead plant came back to life blooming a beautiful orchid.

“When you learn how to be nice to Mirabel.” She retorted as she began to walk towards the direction Mirabel left in.

He scoffed and tried to follow after her, but he got dragged to help the other townspeople.

(E/C) eyes spotted the singing girl, and she smiled, running towards her, “Mirabel!”

Mirabel’s face looked panicked with a wide smile as she grabbed her friend's arm and dragged her in front of the kids, “Looks its my best friend (Y/N)! Hey you can marry my brother if you wanna.” She then dragged her friend closer, “Between you and me, he's kind of a prima donna. Yo, I've said too much and thank you, but I really gotta go!”

“Mirabel!” (Y/N) exclaimed with a bright red face and quickly followed after the girl as she tried to end her song.

“MIRABEL!!” Abuela Alma's voice echoed from inside the house, causing all the noise to stop.

(Y/N) caught up and looked over at Casita seeing the elderly woman looking at them in confusion with a vase full of flowers in her hand.

“What are you doing…?” Abuela Alma questioned.

Mirabel looked over at (Y/N), who just casually shrugged not really knowing what to say either.

“Uh, they were just asking about the family and…”

“She was about to tell us about her super awesome gift!” One of the little girls exclaimed.

The oldest cousin, Dolores poked her head out with a carefree smile, “Oh, Mirabel didn't get one.” She shrugged with a small squeak and went back inside.

All the kids looked at Mirabel sadly and one girl with a straw hat questioned, “You didn't get a gift?”

(Y/N) grimaced and decided to distract the kids, “Oh look! A delivery!”

Everyone looked over at the large man as he grabbed a basket full of supplies for the party off the donkey’s back.

“I gave you the special since you're the only Madrigal kid with no gift.” He explained handing Mirabel the basket, “I call it the not special special since, uh, you have no gift.”

Mirabel gave a forceful smile, “Thanks.”

(Y/N) frowned and walked off towards the donkey, she hated when people disrespected Mirabel for not having a gift.

“Oh, and tell Antonio good luck!” He requested, “The last gift ceremony was a bummer. Last one being yours that did not work.”

Having enough of the man, (Y/N) gently placed her potted orchid to the side and looked at the bored donkey. She gave it an apologetic smile before she slapped the animal's rear end. The donkey let out a loud noise and ran away.

“MY DONKEY!” The man cried out and quickly tried to catch it.

Feeling a little more satisfied, she grabbed her potted Orchid and walked back towards Mirabel.

“If I was you, I'd be really sad.” The girl with the pinestraw hat said looking at Mirabel.

“Well, my little friend, I am not.” Mirabel reassured, “Because the truth is, gift or no gift, I am just as special as the rest of my family.”

In that exact moment all of the family began to use their powers in different parts of Casita, unintentionally showing off.

“Maybe your gift is being in denial.” The same girl said.

Having enough of the slander, (Y/N) sighed and began to gently push the kids away with one hand, “Alright kiddos, it's time to leave! You can visit later tonight during the ceremony! Bye! Adios!”

As soon as all the kids left, (Y/N) looked at Mirabel with concern, “Hey, you okay?”

Like always Mirabel gave a fake smile, “Yeah!” Her fake smile shifted to a genuine one, “Thanks for earlier by the way. The poor donkey was innocent though.”

“Well not much else I could think of to get rid of him.” (Y/N) chuckled.
