After telling all of the students to get out using the secret passage, Landon moves towards the classroom that Grace told them that the Necromancer was preparing to spell. He moves around the room when he finds the candle, "I wouldn't touch that," the Necromancer says as the former phoenix bends down to touch the candle. Landon looks up at the sound of the voice. "Okay, I don't have to listen to you. I'm not dead, so you can't stop me," Landon taunts. The Necromancer chuckles, "My dear, dull boy, I don't plan to," he retorts. "Okay, then what is your plan, exactly?" Landon asks, wanting to be one step ahead. "To have my revenge. To fuel a spell so powerful it will set every monster within Malivore loose to rain destruction upon this world. Consuming humans the way Malivore once consumed us...and to have them all serve me," the Necromancer explains. "That's way more petty than I thought," Landon says. "Everyone keeps saying that," the Necromancer deadpans. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a blood sacrifice to attend. Well, the only thing you'll be attending is the afterlife once Hope gets here," Landon says. "Well, beats your family reunion," the Necromancer says. Something groans behind Landon and he turns to see Malivore in a different form than the usual form. "Hey, Dad," Landon mutters. "Listen well, my new acolyte. End Landon Kirby as you see fit. Savor it, as it will be you last act of free will. Then come to me so your eternity of misery can begin, my faithful servant," the Necromancer demands. The monster bows and a symbol appears on his head. "We'll have to work on that bow. Less head, more knees," the Necromancer says. Landon punches the monster and his hand goes right through the monster's chest. "Aw, man," he complains. "Okay," Landon says reevaluating the situation. The Necromancer sighs and leaves the room, "Wait, wait, wait, wait. You want to get back at The Necro, right?" Landon asks. "I can help. Just-just-just hear me out instead of consuming me! I'll take that as a yes," Landon says as the mud monster spits out the arm.

"This is why Landon never goes into saving the day by himself," Grace says. "But you volunteered him for that job," Elena argues. "And he took the job," Grace argues.

In the crypt, Josie checks on Alyssa for a second. "How bad is it?" the dark haired siphon asks. "On a scale from horrific to apocalyptic, a 12?" Lizzie says. "Can you even imagine how much black magic is brewing in that thing?" the blonde asks. "Trust me, I can. It's been inside me," Josie says. Kai clears his throat, "Let's not talk about that," he says. "I know how we can stop it. But you're gonna hate it," MG says. "More than dying? That's a pretty low bar," Grace says as she stands up from checking out the pit. MG groans, "Wake Alyssa up," MG says. "There's no way in hell that we're doing that," Lizzie says. "Lizzie, she knows the spell. She linked it to The Necromancer. So she can stop it or help rewrite it...or find some other loophole with-with your help," MG explains. "If we could trust her," Grace asks. "All you gotta do is trust me. She'll do the right thing. I'm literally betting my life on it," MG says. Grace, Lizzie and Josie exchange a look with one another and Kai uses his magic to wake Alyssa up.

"Do you really need her for the spell," Kol asks. "What do you mean," Elena asks. "The grimoire is on the table," Kom says.

Landon looks at the mud gollum, "The spell The Necromancer did to raise you must have also made you his servant. And I'm willing to bet that new symbol on your face is the binding part of that spell," Landon rants, buying himself time. "I mean, I don't take many witchcraft classes, but I did date the most badass witch ever. I'd say you two should meet, but you kind of already have, and her blood is the only thing that's toxic to you, so..." Landon says. The gollum growls, "Awkward," Landon says. "Hope taught me that there is always a loophole with magic. We just have to figure out what that is," Landon says thinking out loud. "The Necromancer said to end me as you see fit. That's a loophole, because even though you have to do what he says, he gave you a lot of...wiggle room," Landon says, coming up with a plan. "You created me to be your vessel, right? Then use me to destroy him and free yourself. I may not be immortal anymore, but there's no symbol on my forehead that binds me to him," Landon says turning to the Malivore gollum. "What do you say, Dad?" Landon asks, holding out his arm.

"Does he know that the good decisions exist," Marcel asks. "No," Faith says.

Hope paces down below, and all of the sudden a door bursts open catching her attention. "This is the door Landon was talking about," Ethan says. "Go, go, go," Maya adds pointing her classmates out of the school. "Ethan?" Hope asks. "Hope," Ethan questions. "You saw Landon?" Hope asks. "Yeah, he told my sister and I to sneak everyone out of the school once he disabled the tractor beam, whatever that means," Ethan explains. "He did it. Where was he?" Hope asks. "Last I saw, he was headed towards the football field," Ethan says. Hope gives him a look, "Okay, you need to go. So do I," Hope says. She pulls out her phone, "Faith change of plans," Hope says into the phone. "Get everyone back to the school, I have a feeling that things are going to go badly," Hope says. "Not yet, Hope," Faith responds. "We are not done fighting the monsters," Faith adds. "Well as soon as you are done with that then head back to the school," Hope amends her previous statement. "Where is Grace," Hope asks. "Finishing the back up plan with the twins," Faith says. "See you on the other side," Hope says as she hangs up the phone.

"That was not the plan," Klaus says. "He was supposed to leave out the front," Rebekah adds. "Yes but if he had left out the front, he would have to explain what happened inside," Freya says.

Alaric is in the woods, overlooking the students fighting. "You're too late. I've already seen how you die, as surely as I once foresaw that we should meet again," the sphinx says from behind him. "Well, I'm guessing you failed to foresee that this was a trap," Alaric says. There is a gunshot and the monster crumbles into dust. "I told you we had guns. Ethan and Maya are safe, along with their classmates, thanks to your students," Mac says. "Thanks to you for trusting me," Alaric retorts. "Oh, it's the least I could do after last night," Mac says. "Well, you ain't seen nothing yet. Now, go, round up your team. With The Lion King dead here, it's time we took the fight to them," Alaric says. "Copy that. Where are you going?" Mac asks. "I got to go handle, uh, Bullwinkle," Alaric replies, gesturing back towards the high school where the minotaur was.

"Huh," Rebekah says. "What," Faith asks. "It's almost like the quote unquote responsible adult is sitting on the sidelines," Rebekah says. "That's exactly what is happening," Grace deadpans.

"That's exactly what is happening," Grace deadpans
