Your POV

_______________________

You leapt up from the bed at the sound your alarm made, the loud beeping ringing through your ears as you scrambled to turn it off. You were very awake and not groggy at all, unusually so compared to all the other days you'd been disturbed by that annoying clock. But then of course, today you actually had something to look forward to.

A date.

You brushed your teeth and washed your face gently, trying to wipe the sleep from your eyes.

A friend date. Not a romantic date of course, I don't even know the man. A friend date.

As you pulled on your outfit for the day, a simple pair of jeans and a colorful sweater, you found yourself staring in the mirror, trying to fix up your hair and face as much as you could before you left to the shelter.

God, what's wrong with me? I'm more focused on my appearance than on the people I'm supposed to be helping.

You reprimanded yourself, but not before you caught one last look of yourself in the mirror. After all, you wanted to look good if you were going to see him again. You left your room quietly, not wanting to alert your father of your leave, but you were sadly interrupted by none other than your best friend, Harry.

"Where in the world do you think you're going?" He asked nosily, looking you over with an eyebrow raised. "Don't tell me you're going back to that place now-"

"I'll go where I please, thank you very much." You replied curtly, pushing him out of your way like a sibling would, and moving back towards the door.

"Oi! You can't go back there, Y/N, seriously!" His annoyed voice made you want to laugh. He sounded like an insolent child. He blocked your path, arms in front of him to keep you from leaving through the door. "Harry, get out of my way!" You said angrily, trying to dodge under his arm.

"Who are you meeting?" He asked loudly, grabbing you and pushing you back before you could escape. "Shh!" You exclaimed, covering his mouth with your hand. "No one! I'm just going to volunteer!"

"Liar!" He said loudly again, his voice just barely muffled by your palm. "Can you shut up, you wanker?" You whispered-shouted, looking over your shoulder nervously, hoping his annoying voice hadn't woken your father, or worse...alerted your maid.

"I'mnotawanker" His voice was still muffled and you could barely make out what he was saying. "Why can't you just leave me alone, you prick?" You asked angrily, taking your hand off his mouth.

"You're gonna get in trouble-"

"I'll get in trouble then! It's none of your business at all."

"I'll get in trouble too! Your father'll blame me for not stopping you!" He exclaimed exasperatedly, throwing his hands up in the air. You stared at him for a moment, debating your options. "Just cover for me?" you suggested.

"No! If I lie I'll get in even worse trouble!"

"Then just go home!" you opened the door and walked right out, leaving him behind you. But then of course, being the prick he was, Harry followed you out, talking right into your ear. "I can't just leave you by yourself!-" At least he cared...somewhat, you thought to yourself as he continued to blabber about how much trouble you two would get in.

"Can we please just go back now?" Harry groaned as you two crossed the street. "Shut up." You muttered back, already annoyed by his presence. "You were the one who insisted on following me. I didn't force you to come with."
