Traning had proceed as normal over the following days on this particular day Raiden was fighting multiple monks at once which he quite skillyfully beat
He then saw Kung Lao approaching with a new bladed hat that made Raiden smile and shake his head
" I still don't think that's a good idea" he says
" It is genius Raiden besides the only reason Y/N broke it so easily last time was because it was a prototype and well his scythe is supernatural" Kung Lao said while Johnny Cage was still recoding everything
" The next time we see Sub-zero, I will have to thank him for the inspiration" he says with a cheeky smile as he runs his hand across the hat cutting his finger slightly
" Ow" he says wincing
" See? It's still not effective" Raiden argued
Kung Lao decided to simply show him instead as he tossed the hat towards a traning dummy slicing it's head off and as it returns he catches it with a smile as he places it on his head
" Maybe it's too effective" Raiden says impressed
" We just need to get on with it. We've been couped up here for months, I can't base a cinametic universe on outworld's monsters and magic if I don't ever see them" Cage says as he walks to them
" That's why your here?" Kenshi asks
" Liu Kang said this would change the arc of my life, that's how it gets done" Cage says " My ex will rule the day she gave up on me"
" So selfless" Kenshi says
" Oh please tattoo your just here to get your sword back" Cage says
Raiden then tries to defuse the situation " We all have our reasons for being here, some better then others. But we are not here to fight among ourselves. We are here to fight for earth realm"
A gong was then heard summoning them all
" It's about danm time" Johnny says
They then saw Liu Kang walking out with his hands outstretched
" And today one of you will be chosen to fight for it at the tournament" he says
The four then line up infront of him
" Only one of us? Isn't outworld fielding several champions" Raiden asks
" The tournament's rules give the host realm that advantage. And it is outword's turn to host" Liu Kang says
" So what's our record at this tournament" Johnny asked
" Earthrealm and outworld have long been evenly matched but outworld is gaining strength" Liu Kang
" I hope I need a real challenge besides we only need me anyways" Y/N says from behind the four making the jump slightly by his sudden appearance
He had a cockly smile on his face as he beamed " I'm pretty sure I'll tear through them all" he says
" I'm afraid you won't be competing" Liu Kang says
" Why thank you I knew that of course" Y/N said but then only relized what Liu Kang said
" WAIT WHAT" he shouted enraged to which Liu Kang simply held up a hand
" I'll explain in due time" he then looks at the rest " But non the less this is still a tournament we must win"
" Should outworld win, it's more militant factions will be emboldened " he continues
" I thought you admired outworld" Raiden asks
" It is a place of great knowledge, wealth and beauty, but our realms do not share goals or beliefs" Liu Kang said walking past them as they all followed
" We coexist peacefully because outworld respects our strength should we show weakness... Our rival will become our enemy" Liu Kang says
Y/N grumbles annoyed but in an understanding way " Which is why you want me to tag along to show that we are a force not meant to be trifled with"
Liu Kang nods as he walks on " You were once a militant man a great commander if your record is anything to go off of surely you understand there are ways to avoid war without conflict"
Y/N nodded slowly he knew it all to well after all his used similar tactics before display to an enemy that a war would be meaningless not that he minded one of course
And having death on your side well it did send one heck of a message he summed up now knowing the real reason Liu Kang recruited him
" I will not lose Lord Liu Kang" Kang Lao said determined as they all approached the area they would be fighting
" First you must win the right to represent us whichever one of you outlasts the others will be chosen" Liu Kang says taking a seat as the other monks line up behind his seat
Y/N stood besides his seat as he formed his scythe and leaned on it
" Raiden step forward" Liu Kang says
Raiden does as his told and bows respectfully making Cage chuckle
" Good call, call the weak first" the actor says
" You will face him, Johnny Cage" Liu Kang says
The two begin their match as they all watch on but Y/N glanced at Liu Kang for a moment
" I'm guessing you don't want me to fight because sending in the reaper of death could send the wrong message" Y/N says
Liu Kang nods his eyes never leaving Cage and Raiden's fight " Some might try to say we are provoking outworld"
Y/N sighs it was as if he was back in his old military tent discussing all the possible things they could do to guarantee their victory in the war
Or wars rather Y/N doesn't remember a time his nation was at peace it was constantly at war since he was a kid but that did all change when he died
