As I walked out of the clinic, the first rays of the sun were just beginning to peek over the horizon. I felt a sense of relief wash over me as I left that sterile environment behind.
Don't get me wrong, I care about my patients and their well-being, but the job can be incredibly taxing.
It's hard to watch people come in day after day with broken bones, scratches, and other ailments.
And It's even harder to know that I have to treat them, whether I feel up to it or not. But today, as I walked out of the clinic, I had only one thing on my mind: a walk home.

The clinic is situated at a convenient location as it is only a few blocks away from here. To be precise, it is approximately 2 to 4 blocks away from this place. Being so close to the clinic, it should be easy for me to reach there in no time.

I let out a long, weary sigh and began putting one foot in front of the other as I trudged wearily down the street. Thoughts of my soft, cozy bed waiting for me at home were the only thing keeping me going at that moment. I knew that as soon as I stepped through my front door, I would shed my heavy coat and collapse onto my mattress, allowing myself to sink into the warm embrace of a much-needed nap.

As I was lost in my thoughts, suddenly, I felt a swift movement behind me. I quickly turned around to see what it was and my eyes caught a glimpse of Subspace zooming past me.

As soon as he dashed off, I was left standing there in utter bewilderment. Thoughts raced through my mind, and I couldn't help but wonder where he was headed. Was he perhaps heading back to his lab, I wondered? The uncertainty of the situation left me feeling a bit uneasy.

I couldn't care less about where he was headed. I despise him anyway. So, it's of no consequence to me.

As I resumed my journey towards home, the cool evening breeze brushed against my face. The sky had already transformed into a beautiful dark shade, and the streetlights had started to flicker on. As I walked, I couldn't help but notice how time seemed to pass by so quickly. It felt like just a few steps before I found myself standing right outside my front door, ready to call it a night.

As I approached my front door, I reached into my pocket and retrieved the shiny silver key to my house. With a gentle hand, I inserted the key into the lock on the doorknob. I carefully turned the key clockwise, then counterclockwise, feeling the satisfying click of the locking mechanism disengaging. Finally, I pushed the door open, greeted by the familiar scent of my home and the comforting warmth of the interior.

Within a few moments, my dear daughter, Sodapop, bounded towards me with a beaming smile on her face. As we embraced, our hug was filled with warmth and affection, a true testament to the love we shared for each other. Sodapop's face lit up with joy as she saw me entering the house after a long day. "Dad!! You're finally home!!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. I heard her voice filled with warmth and affection as she greeted me with a chuckle, I saw her eyes shining with happiness.
"Yeah, kid. I'm finally home," I announced, my voice heavy with exhaustion. "Do you know where your father is, Soda?" I asked, slightly pulling away from her embrace to look at her. My eyes scanned the room, searching for any signs of him.
"Dad is in your guys's bedroom upstairs. While I was waiting for you, he asked me to tell you that he has a present waiting for you when you get home!" She spoke with a cheerful expression. Upon hearing this, I gave her a nod and stood up, making my way towards the stairs.

As I turned the doorknob and pushed the bedroom door, it creaked softly and opened slowly, revealing the sight of Banhammer comfortably seated on our bed, swinging his feet back and forth in a rhythmic motion. His joyful expression immediately caught my attention as he turned his head towards me upon hearing the door's faint noise. A broad smile spread across his face, illuminating the room with a warm and inviting glow.

As the blindfold covered his eyes, it was evident that he couldn't see a thing. However, he seemed to have a keen sense of sound and an impressive memory. As I entered the room, I could feel his anticipation and his focus shifting towards my footsteps. I made my way towards him, wondering what his next move would be.

As he slowly removed the blindfold from his eyes, he placed it gently on the bedside table. As I looked at him, I couldn't help but notice how pretty he looked with his eyes uncovered.

I approached Ban Hammer with a smile and queried, "Soda said you had a gift for me?" to which he nodded and took out a small, but neatly wrapped box with a ribbon attached. My eyes lit up with excitement as I eagerly waited to see what the present was. The wrapping paper was meticulously folded, and the ribbon was tied in a perfect bow, indicating that the gift was carefully prepared. I couldn't wait to unwrap it and find out what was inside.

With utmost care, I meticulously untied the ribbon that was tightly wrapped around the box. As I slid off the ribbon, I felt a sense of excitement bubbling inside me. I slowly opened the box, and to my surprise, I found a small blue case inside it. My mind raced as I wondered what could be inside - could it be what I thought it could be?

As I lifted the tiny case's lid, I caught a glimpse of a shiny object resting inside.
It was a brand new ring, glimmering under the light.
