"As the clock ticked away, the doctor patiently waited for his last patient of the day. After a few minutes, the door creaked open and a figure stepped in. The doctor's eyes lifted from his notes and widened in both surprise and confusion as he saw who it was."

Medkit was engrossed in his work, his eyes fixed on the notes he was scribbling on the table when he suddenly heard the door open which made him look up. "Sodapop?! What are you doing here?" he exclaimed, his voice laced with surprise and concern. He quickly put down his pen and rushed over to his daughter, eager to find out why she had come unannounced.

Medkit's voice was filled with concern as he addressed Sodapop. He gently checked her arms, neck, and face, and carefully examined every inch of her body. His eyes searched for signs of injury, his fingers probing softly to detect any hidden pain. "Soda, are you hurt? What happened?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly with worry.

Sodapop's body language was indicative of distress. Her eyes were visibly moist, and it appeared as though she was struggling to hold back tears. She clutched her left arm with her right hand as if she was trying to alleviate some discomfort or pain.

Medkit's voice trembled as he looked into Soda's eyes and said, "Please, talk to me." His heart was pounding and he could feel the anxiety starting to rise within him. He desperately hoped that Soda would respond, as he needed her to reassure him and calm his nerves.

Sodapop let out a deep breath, her exhale trembling slightly. Medkit couldn't help but notice that she was wearing a long-sleeved shirt today, which was a departure from her usual attire of sleeveless tops. He couldn't help but wonder what had prompted this change in her wardrobe.

Medkit gently placed his hand on Sodapop's shoulder to put her at ease. "Sodapop, can you show me your arm?" he asked in a calm and reassuring tone. Sodapop complied, feeling a sense of comfort from Medkit's gentle touch.

"Biograft, could you hand me that gem?"

...

"WHICH ONE, CREATOR? THERE ARE MULTIPLE HERE."

...

"The odd one out of the batch, the one with a different color from the rest..."
"The teal one, my creation."

...

"CREATOR, I THINK YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN I CANNOT PICK UP ANYTHING WITH THESE... "HANDS." "

Subspace takes a deep sigh and slowly stands up from his workbench, leaving behind his newest invention which is still in progress.
He walks over to the Biograft, a complex machine that he has been finished with for years.
As he steps forward, the sound of his footsteps echoes around his laboratory, the clicking of his shoes resounding against the hard, concrete floor.

The space is large and dimly lit, with various tools, equipment, and materials scattered around the room.

Subspace carefully picks up the cyan-colored gem, examining it closely. "I am talking about this one, Biograft," he says, his voice hardly above a whisper. As he holds it in his hand, the gem radiates a gentle glow, practically as if in response to his touch.

The color of the small gem was quite perplexing to discern, as it appeared to be a fusion of both turquoise and green, with neither color dominating the other.
Subspace's curiosity was piqued even further by this acknowledgment, and they became increasingly engrossed in the topic at hand.

The Biograft, devoid of any discernible emotion in their voice, inquired, "I BEG YOUR PARDON, CREATOR. MAY I KNOW THE REASON BEHIND YOUR REQUIREMENT OR THE NATURE OF YOUR NEWEST INVENTION?" It was evident that the Biograft was a machine, incapable of displaying any emotions.

Subspace couldn't help but let out a chuckle as he spoke, though his laughter was a little muffled due to the mask he was wearing.

"Oh, Biograft," he said, his eye twinkling mischievously. "You'll see soon enough what I'm talking about."

Subspace made his way back to the workbench, gem in hand. His gaze fixed on his latest invention. As he drew closer, he noticed a small pool of oil forming beneath it, dark and viscous. The liquid had begun to spread across the surface of the table, seeping into the wood and leaving a telltale stain in its wake.
As he held the object in his hands, he carefully turned it over, examining it from all angles. His focus was on finding the origin of the leak that had caused the damage. After a few moments, his eyes landed on a tiny piece of metal that had come loose, leaving a small opening for the liquid to escape.

After Subspace had fixed the minor issue, the turquoise gem was carefully placed on the left-hand side of the table, where it sat undisturbed. The gem's radiant glow was so dazzling that it could easily be used as a source of light, illuminating a room just like a flashlight or a lamp would. The gem appeared to be unharmed, and its exquisite color continued to captivate anyone who laid their eyes on it.

Subspace deftly picked up the gem, marveling at its intricate facets and the way it shimmered in the light. He carefully inserted it into a small, precisely crafted hole in the front of his invention. As he pushed it into place, he felt a satisfying click as it locked securely into position. He knew that the gem would remain safely ensconced in his invention for quite some time to come.

Subspace spoke softly, his eyes fixed on the device in front of him. "Soon," he muttered to himself, almost as if he was reassuring himself of something. "Soon, this will be finished," he continued, his voice growing more confident with each passing moment.

He then let out a deep sigh of relief and a slight grin formed on his face. "And I'll never have to see Medkit around crossroads again," he said, chuckling to himself. However, his laughter didn't stop there. It grew louder and louder until it filled the entire room. The sound of it was almost maniacal, echoing across the walls and bouncing back again. It was as if the weight of the world had been lifted off his shoulders.
