Stef's: POV
So l woke up unaware of my surroundings and then it hit me l was at Lena's parents house in England Massachusetts. I had plans with my future in law this morning
I have been dreading this conversation ever since l proposed to Lena a year ago
I know he wants to know what my intentions are with Lena, l was the type of a woman who spoke my mind plain and simple. But there was something about Mr. Adams, l couldn't put my finger on it just yet. I know he wants to make sure Lena is well cared for, Lena is it for me. I know her family is wealthy. I would never in a million years take advantage of Lena
I decided to get up and showered, Stef looked over at the clock and it's going one 9:00. I don't remember the last time I slept in this late, I'm usually up at 6:30 every morning getting myself together for work
I must've been more tired than l realize
Lena and l didn't get back in a little after nine. Lena's always up before me, but now she's sleeping beside me. She's been working long hours at long beach Academy holding board meetings and so on, it takes a lot out of a person. My job is less demanding than hers, Lena is always home
When l arrived. I have a team under me
That always gets the work done, it must be nice to have servants be at your beck and call. in our home it's just us, the staff here are very loyal to Mr and Mrs Adams
I head to the bathroom and take my personal needs. I remember Mr. Adams told me to dress comfortably, he didn't say where we were going today. I guess I'm a little on edge cause Lena won't be there
As I am showering someone comes into the restroom, then l realize it's Lena l know her scent from anyway. Good morning baby how did you sleep last night Lena asks
I don't think l've ever slept so peaceful before. Don't be nervous Daddy just wants to get to know you better, this is the first time l have brought anyone home before
Lena informs me. So you've never invited your ex-girlfriend you were dating before me, Stef questioned. I knew early on in our so called relationship she wasn't as serious as l was when l felt her pulling away, that's when l knew she was sleeping with someone else, Amelia tried to warn me
But l didn't listen Lena explains. Well l'm flatter l was the first one you brought to meet your folks, since you've already met mine. What does your dad like to do Stef asked, well Daddy likes golfing and he's a basket fan much like you Lena said. I'll keep that in mind Stef replied, l stand under the sprayer to get the soap off my body. Lena brushes her teeth in the sink
And exits the bathroom she must have showered in one of the other restrooms
I can't believe the Adams have eleven bedrooms in this giant big old house
