3rd Person POV:

"You alright, Eve?"

She sighed, "Yeah." Then sat up. "Cedric's dad hates me."

"How come?" Draco sat down next to her and it made her flinch a little.

"He's like convinced that I'm an inferi or a vampire." She explained without making eye contact with Draco, "He says it doesn't make sense that I suddenly exist."

"What an idiot."

"It's what everyone at school thinks too."

"And they're all idiots. I know it isn't true. Blaise knows. Mattheo does too. Even Pansy. She doesn't like you so she just talks shit, but she's not the stupidest person ever."

Evangeline let out a giggle. Somehow, he made her feel a little better.

Evangeline ended up staying at the Malfoy's for quite a while. It was the 23rd of December and Malfoy just hasn't taken her back to Hogwarts. She'd been staying in one of their many guest rooms.

The family, and Eva, sat at the dining table. "Thank you for dinner." Said Eva.

Narcissa smiled at the girl, while Lucius ignored her gratitude. "Are you going to the Yule Ball, Ella?" Narcissa asked the black haired girl at the end of the table.

"Yes." She smiled, "I just...probably should figure out my dress situation."

"You don't have a dress? It's in two days."

"Yeah. I just realized." She awkwardly began to play with her fork.

Narcissa stood up from the table and pushed in her chair with a smug smirk on her face. "Come with me." Draco clearly got that smug smirk from his mother. Eva nervously followed Narcissa down a hallway and into a dressing room. In the dressing room, was a mannequin with a black laced dress. "This was my dress when I went to the Yule Ball with Lucius."

"It's beautiful

"It's beautiful." Smiled Eva.

"Yes it is." The pale, light haired woman admired the dress sadly for a moment, then turned to Eva, "Why don't you wear it?"

Eva was struck, "Oh. Um. It's lovely. Really. And not that I don't appreciate it—because I do—I just can't."

"Why not? I insist. I have no use for it. It stopped fitting me after I had Draco. And I have no daughter to give it to."

"Well, okay." She gave in, "Thank you Mrs. Malfoy."

"Call me Narcissa, darling."

"Thank you, Narcissa." Evangeline smiled. Narcissa liked her, and that's the approval she'd been longing for. Now, she just needed Draco's dad to like her. She doesn't know why it's so important that his parents like her, but it just is.

"I'm glad you and my son are friends, Ella." She looked at Evangeline, "He doesn't have many, and you being around makes him happier than I've seen him in a while."

She couldn't help herself, but blush.

Draco stood by the door, listening to the conversation. His mom liked his friend.

If Narcissa found out her name wasn't actually Ella, it would ruin everything, in his mind. Maybe even put her in danger. He knew what was coming.
