It was the afternoon, Jaemin only had one class left which he felt excited. It meant that he can get to see his crush before he leaves to go to his book club.

He walks over to his seat that is right beside the window, glanced over at the football field for a good minute and replayed the scene of Jeno playing in his mind.

Jaemin couldn't help but blush at the thought of his arms popping out whenever he held the ball tight. He knew these feelings about him felt a bit more than a crush but he didn't want to put too much thought into it since he needed to focus on his studies to prove his parents he isn't slacking off his academics. But he knows if he ends up failing a quiz or exam because of a some human distracts him, he can just retake it and it'll be no biggie.

Jaemin sat on his seat and waited for class to start as each student came in. He unzipped his backpack and pulled his usual notebook where he mainly writes his notes in, flat on the desk.

"Ahem, alright students, now that everyone is remained seated. I will now start off by reading the attendance sheet in front of me. Anyone who is not here will be automatically marked absent." The professor held the paper towards herself and read each name out loud.

The room was nothing but silent and all you could hear was voices from each student confirming their existence with their hand raised.

Jaemin on the other hand already raise his hand and then turn to look at the window right beside him once again, it was raining outside. He started to wonder why Jeno wasn't present as usual.

Where could he be?

It wasn't like Jeno to be skipping classes since he's one of the top tier on the student list for perfect attendance. His eyes trailed around the room to double check and he wasn't but not until-

"HERE!" A tall male barged into the room, loud pants echoed around the room, catching his breath with his hands on his knees.

Everyone including Jaemin instantly turned their heads at the sudden sound from the door and surprisingly, it was Jeno.

The professor stared at him with widen eyes as she had gotten startled by the door opening, almost completely thinking someone was trying to break it with force. Her position looked like a cat, or more like scaredy-cat.

"I was just about to say your name, but since you managed to come in before my mouth started moving, I'll let it slide for now. Therefore, you keep that perfect attendance." She narrowed down her eyes at Jeno which he then nodded.

"I- uh thank you Ms. Yang."  He said and then proceeded to go to his seat which wasn't next to Jaemin sadly but next to his best friend, Mark.

Jaemin's eyes were still glued to Jeno who appears to be talking to a student right beside him with black hair.

"Mark didn't I tell you to clean up after yourself in the locker rooms? Ugh the coach still thinks the hair dye stains on the floor was from me." He groaned as he slam his head on the desk.

"Woah there, no need to hurt yourself. Your head is important for our team, we have to have a smart leader here," he pressed his index finger onto the younger's forehead. "But I don't see why the stains are a big problem to him. Why didn't you tell him it was me?"

"I did but he didn't believe me! He thought I was lying because he said that last week, my locker was open and it left out an opened used hair dye bottle in front of it dripping down the floor."

Mark couldn't help but cooed at his friend feeling frustrated because of his own mistake.

"That's stupid"

"I know!"

"Why was your locker open in the first place?" Jeno's friend leaning his face onto his hand. Jeno scoffed at the question, as if it ain't obvious.

"You wanted to use my locker mirror because yours was shattered, remember?" he turn away in disbelief and then for a glimpse second he coulda swore he saw someone staring at them friend in the corner of the room.

"Oh yeah my bad! I didn't realize it would cause consequences to our coach. You know he could've just gotten the janitors to clean it?" Mark said as he looked up to see Jeno's back facing him.

"Ya Jeno!" He slapped his back as Jeno winced at the sudden hit from his friend. "I'm still talking here!"

"Ouch, you didn't have to hit me that hard." he pouted.

"Sorry it felt like it was the only way to get your attention at that moment, without you getting distracted by some random dude staring at us." he said while rubbing Jeno's back.

"Wait what? You saw that too?"

"Yeah, but ignore it Jeno. People stare at us all the time, we're like celebrities nowadays." Mark turned his attention back to the professor.

Jeno took a second to think and then nodded. He adjust his seat back towards the professor and continued to listen.

Jaemin on the other hand...

Ah fuck he's looking over here! Jaemin quickly put his  notebook towards his face and tried to act like he was busy doing something.

He then waited for a good minute before he could remove the notebook from his face. He slowly peeked up to see if Jeno was still looking at his table and he wasn't.

Jaemin sighed in relief as he removed his notebook from his face and decided to focus on the professor instead.

"Homework is due this friday and on that day, I'll be assigning partners for next week's project presentation so don't be absent on that day please unless you happen to be sick. Anywho, have a great day everyone, I'll see you guys on friday." The professor dismissed everyone including herself, making her exit first.

Everyone started packing up their bags and went off to do whatever after class.

Jaemin was already at the door, leaving the room so that he could make it to his book club.

As for Jeno and Mark, they were heading to football practice for their next big game on friday night.

They set their belongings inside of their lockers in the locker room and gotten themselves ready. As soon as Jeno stepped out of the door, his wrist was held by his best friend, causing him to turn around. "Do you need something?"

"Not really, I was gonna ask why you suddenly came in late earlier? You're like never late." Mark put his arm over his shoulder, causing them to walk away from lockers and head towards to the field since the rain has stopped

"Yeah about that, I was asked out." Hearing that had Mark smirking at him up and down. "Ooooo I bet you liked it! didn't you? That's why you stayed right?" he said, with the same expression as Jeno rolled his eyes at his response.

"Haha very funny, I had to turn her down. She was luckily okay about it and I felt bad." Jeno said with a unamused look.

"Why did you turn her down? You could've gotten yourself a girlfriend." Jeno unwrapped Mark's arm and shook his head. "No dude, I wasn't attracted to her nor do I know who she was. But, she was very kind and polite,"

"Which is why you didn't have to turn her down, man." Mark scoffed and speed walked to the school exit door to the field. Jeno sighs, eventually catches up to him and stood by his side while the coach was explaining things.

Mark thought an idea that might help him find a girlfriend. He turn to Jeno and softly whispered into his ear. "In that case, I'm throwing a party after this."
