Jude's POV:

Jules tugged at my arm with an infectious enthusiasm, her eyes were sparkling with a mischievous glint. I could feel the excitement radiating off her as she practically dragged me down the street.

"Come on, J. You can study all day tomorrow. One day of fun won't harm you."

Before I could protest, we were standing in front of a sleek maroon motorbike. I blinked looking at the bike then back at Jules. "What are we doing here?" I asked already dreading the answer.

Please don’t say we’re riding this thing. Please don’t—

Shit!

Jules swiftly take a helmet and handed another one to me. "I told you I have to prepare for Alex's birthday today. And you need to help me." she grinned.

I shook my head. No not that.

"No, I mean why are you giving me this helmet? Don’t tell me we’re actually going on this thing." My eyes drifted skeptically to the motorcycle in front of us.

Jules shrugged nonchalantly. "Of course. Do you see any other vehicles here besides motorbikes?"

I let out a heavy sigh. Great. Sure, motorbikes are cool but I wasn’t exactly thrilled about riding one—especially not today, when I was wearing ripped jeans. It might sound silly but I couldn’t help but worry that my thighs would look terribly bloated from the way the jeans would stretch on the bike.

"Jules, I don’t think I want to ride this." I said resting one hand on the seat while the helmet dangled from the other.

"And why not?"

"I’ve never ridden a motorbike." I admitted hoping she’d understand.

"What? You’ve never—" Jules almost shouted. I quickly covered her mouth with my hand before she could draw attention to us.

"Shhh... stop shouting like a maniac." I waited until she nodded before releasing her.

"You’ve never ridden a motorbike? What the heck?" she exclaimed rubbing her chin thoughtfully, trying to comprehend this not-so-shocking revelation. Not everyone has a bike or has ridden one.

I nodded simply and something seemed to click in Jules' mind as a grin spread across her face. Another trouble?

"Wait a second." she said pulling her phone out of her bag and typing something quickly.

We stood in silence for a while with Jules casually leaning against her bike, her fingers tapping on her phone screen while I shifted my weight from one foot to the other glancing around awkwardly.
