(Warning: some swearing)

Chapa's POV:

We were sitting in the waiting room waiting for the doctor to come back. I was starting to get worried, because this kind of thing has never happened to Mika before. If she died, what would become of the rest of us? I had a lot on my mind, but then, I see the doctor walking towards us, and I immediately stood up.

Me: "How's she doing, Dr. Richardson?"

Doctor: "Well, I have some good news, and some bad news. How do you prefer it?"

I look at everyone else to see how they wanted it.

Me: "Might as well get the bad news out of the way first."

Doctor: "So, we did an MRI scan on Mika, and we found something that might not be easy for you all to take in."

Ray: "Please just tell us, what's going on with her?"

Doctor: "She...has a malignant brain tumor."

Miles's POV:

As soon as he said that, I could not believe it. How could Mika have a brain tumor? This kind of thing has never happened to her before.

Bose: "What's the good news?"

Doctor: "The good news is, the tumor is removable, and once it is removed, we'll get her started on chemo to make sure there's no leftover cancer cells after the surgery."

Angela: "Do what you have to do, just please save our daughter."

Doctor: "We will do all we can. I'll go tell her, and we'll get her prepped for the surgery."

Chapa's POV:

The doctor turns to leave, but I stop him.

Me: "Wait, doctor. Can I see her first?"

Doctor: "Sure, but you only have five minutes."

Me: "I can take that."

I leave with the doctor while everyone else stays put.

Bose's POV:

Chapa leaves with the doctor to go see Mika before she undergoes surgery. I started to get a little more worried.

Me: "I hope all of this will be over soon. Tumors sound scary."

Miles puts his hand on my shoulder.

Miles: "It'll be alright, buddy. The doctor knows what he's doing."

I put my hand on his hand, and I start to feel better.

Mika's POV:

It took me a few seconds to reel in everything the doctor had just told me. A tumor? How could that happen to me? But the thing that seemed to calm me down was when he said it's removable, and I was glad; I did not want to deal with these headaches any longer. The doctor tells me he's going to go prep the OR and he'll be back soon after. He then leaves, and it was just me and Chapa.

Chapa: "Hey, beauty. How you feeling?"

Me: *half-jokingly* "Like shit."

Chapa: "I understand, but don't worry, this'll all be over soon, and we'll be able to return to our normal lives."

Me: "I really hope so."

Chapa takes my hand and we interlock our fingers.

Me: "Are the others still here?"

Chapa: "Yeah, we're all hoping the surgery works."

Chapa's POV:

I grab a chair and I sit down next to Mika. I rest my head on her shoulder while still holding her hand. We stayed like that for a few minutes, and then, the doctor comes in.

Doctor: "It's time."

Mika and I took one last look at each other, and we shared one last brief kiss before Mika is wheeled out of the room and into the OR. I head back to join the others in the waiting room. They all took one look, and joined around me for comfort. I really needed it at the time.

(Bet you didn't see any of that coming, did ya? More on the way!)
