Y/n's POV :
The moment I saw tashigi, only one memory passed by my mind, and it was...when Umi asked me if I wanna save Ace when there will be war, My answer was no.... But deep down.... I wanted to save him... I wanted to go to the war even if I am weak... And I wanted to save him at the last part from akainu...
But now that I am facing real danger, even just a normal marine.... I am so fucking scared I can shit myself.....
I am really a loser who can't protect what's dear to her..
"LOOKS LIKE I FOUND SOME WANTED PEOPLE" saying that tashigi pulled out her sword... Uhm wasn't she more understanding in the original plot?
She caught us and handcuffed us... Well not a problem.... Yuki will explain it to her soon right? Maybe she hasn't met Yuki yet
She took us inside and shouted at the main hall
"Smoker san! Yuki san!"
I saw it... I saw him, mine and Umi's nightmare.... Smoker..
He peeked though the stairs.... And to our surprise..... He was with a handcuffed Nami
"NAMI?!" shouted Umi shocked
"I am sorry I got carried away... " Nami mumbled
Huh? What does she mean by that?
"Ohh~ so there were more" Laughed Smoker
"And at a marine's house at that" Added Tashigi while fixing her glasses
Smoker looked at me up and down and then spoke again
"Ain't you that wanted girl?" He asked furious this time
I saw Yuki at the top of the stairs with a horrific look on her face
She started running back down stairs
"SMOKER! WHY DID YOU HANDCUFFED THEM?! I CAN ASSURE YOU THEY ARE NICE PEOPLE--" Before Yuki could finish her sentence it was interrupted with coughs
"Yuki, why is there a wanted criminal here?" Asked smoker harshly
"Sh- she is my friend, she helped Suki then suki brought her home because she was in need--" Before Yuki could finish Smoker interrupted her again
"Yuki, You let a wanted criminal roam Around at our home? With our child? Is this a joke?" Smoker was very furious.... But seeing Yuki he took a deep breath, trying not to scare her
"I- i can assure you they mean no harm, there has been no problem since they came here" Yuki said and Smoker smirked
"Do you know why this orange head is handcuffed?" Asked Smoker
"Why?" Asked Yuki
"I found her rummaging though our cupboard taking valuables while you were outside the room" He finished....
... What?.. OH NO. OH NO. OH NO.
I am not even sure if I should blame Ace for sending her here or Nami for her bad habit
Yuki looked at me with disbelief
I feel sp guilty..........
"I know we are in no position in saying this but.... You do know me and Umi aren't part of this stealing right Yuki?" I looked at her, almost with pleading eyes...
Yuki just stared at me, man I did nothing still i feel so guilty.... I wish... I wish I could do something for Yuki.... All I did was hurt her in return of her favor...
I felt more bad about hurting Yuki than being this much misunderstood
"Smoker" Yuki spoke after a long silence looking at the ground
"Yeah?" He replied warmly
"Y/n isn't a criminal" She spoke looking straight at Smoker's eyes
Both mine and Umi's eye's widened, Even Nami was shocked
....
"You put me in a tough position here Yuki, you do remember how you let a old woman stay over and she tried to kill and loot you, it was thanks to me that I came for a sudden visit that time!! " Smoker shouted at Yuki
"This time I am not wrong smoker.... Please.... They are innocent... Look at the kid... She is almost of Suki's age.. " Yuki almost cried, all of a sudden her coughs kept increasing and smoker hold her for support
Smoker sighed and spoke again
"Check the girls tashigi, if nothing is found... Leave them" Ordered Smoker.... Mine and Umi's eye's brighten with hope. They gave us a chance!..
But all of a sudden it hit me that... They will find Ace's letter...... They will misunderstand yet again that Ace told us to go with the loot at 10pm or sth.... Does God hate us so much? What did we even do wrong?
Just as I predicted, the letter was found, they misunderstood us thinking we had some inside plan, Yuki still didn't believe them and kept saying to leave us alone... Suddenly there was blood all over Yuki's dress, Yuki was coughing out blood, smoker unhanded me and went to grab Yuki
Unknown to us, Nami was already unlocking her handcuff, being a theif, it was obvious she can do it easily
After she unlocked hers, she cane towards us and unlocked ours as Yuki was almost sitting in the ground with blood making her husband and the female marine worried and freak out
The caretaker saw us doing all this and gave me a eye contract
... Please act like you didn't saw us, please please, i was praying in my heart, and yes! She acted like she saw nothing and just went to Yuki
"Someone call Suki chan!! His mother is very sick!! Get him up from bed" Shouted the caretaker
"Run when I count to 3" Whispered Nami to me and Umi
Me and Umi nodded
"1.... " Nami whispered
"RUN!!" Yuki shouted at us and we started Running towards the gate, shocked, figuring out she stayed at the floor a little longer to let us escape
She knew.... Maybe she always knew... She knew she knew she knew... She knew that Ace is someone closer to us.... She knew Nami was unlocking the handcuffs secretly.... She knew......
Before I went out the door, I turned around for the last time
Yuki was smiling at us, Smoker seemed Pissed, Suki just woke up and was getting down the stairs, he was looking at us with his mouth wide open, scared and confused
"Thank you" I whispered and Yuki caught the words by the movement of my lips
I took Umi's hands and continued running as Fast as we can
"WAIT YOU LYING BASTARDS!!!" Smoker shouted but couldn't get up as Yuki was laying in his lap, holding him tight
I can't thank them enough, tears began flowing through my eyes
Yuki... Take care of your health...
Suki... You are gonna grow up to be a very kind person like you mom....
I hope we all meet again.... Not as misunderstood people or enemys but as friends..
Suki.... Yuki....... This house treated this orphans well.... Thank you...
