Nine months, that's how long Y/n had been forced into bed. His injuries prohibit him from doing anything else.

In all nine months, he had been regularly visited by Maki, his technical aunt. And a few random members of the Kukura unit, all of whom had been pestering him about whether or not he felt good enough to join the Kukura unit in their training.

Not once had anyone else he was close to bothered coming by. Not Obito, not Ogi, no one. He was now outcasted. Thrown from heaven and straight into hell.

How cruel his family could be.

But in these times of darkness, he found comfort in maki.

Maki, much like himself, had a little aura, unlike him, she had a weak semblance that only seemed to slightly increase her physical power.

She had been ostracised from birth, none wanting anything to do with her, not even her father, Ogi.

She had the misfortune of being born a woman in the zenin clan. And been burdened even more by having no good semblance.

Y/n was only dealing a fraction of what she had to deal with her entire life, and he'd never felt lower.

She was truly a black sheep.

Y/n was pulled from his thoughts when the shoji was pushed open. Reveling maki as she walked in. The ever-embarrassing outfit all Kukura unit members were required to wear.

"Y/n." She greeted, walking over to the bed Y/n had been forced into.

"Maki." Y/n greeted back. Nodding his head.

Maki looked him over, taking note of his injuries as she leaned on her hip. "Not much longer and you'll be set to leave..." Maki said, before shaking her head. "Not like it matters. You'll just be put in with us."

"Yeah, and I'll lose my sense of fashion," Y/n grunted out, closing his eyes as he heard Maki sigh.

"You get used to it."

Y/n opened his eyes again, staring up at Maki. "Anything happening outside?"

"Not really. Besides Naoya returning from his mission." Maki said.

Ah yes, Naoya. The bastard.

While Y/n hadn't formally met his uncle(Due to him being called upon to deal with missions quite regularly), maki had told him of all his... Exploits.

He had beat her down when she had failed her test and was just generally being a huge asshole who thought himself above everyone else.

"Ugh, he couldn't just die in a ditch and do humanity some form of a favor?" Y/n asked, causing Maki to sigh, for she had thought similarly before.

"You should watch how you talk of him. He isn't above striking those who are injured." Maki warned. Y/n not even bother to ask how she knew. Cause he knew it was true.
