I walked through the hallway lit up by candles slowly. Ahed stood two guards, their arms behind them and katanas at their hips.

The two moved out of the way, grabbing the handles to the doors behind them, and pulling them open for me before I reached them so I could walk in.

The room was pitch black, the dim lights of the candles behind me giving me a way forward.

I walked into the darkness, an unamused expression on my face. These damn geezers and they're dramatics.

The doors close behind me, leaving me in pitch-black darkness. Suddenly, forming a circle around me, 40 candles flicker to life. Filling the space with light.

Many doors stood up, covering the faces of the "Higher-ups" that hid behind them

Many doors stood up, covering the faces of the "Higher-ups" that hid behind them.

"Clan head..." a voice called from to the right of me. "We have called you here as we urge you to reconsider-"

"I'll have none of that." I shake my head, my eyes scanning the room bored. "I've made up my mind. I'll leave it up to you on who gets to be the next head of the clan. I don't care if im being honest."

"You can't!" A voice calls behind me angrily.

"The hell I can't?" I ask angrily. Turning to the door, where I could see the shadowed figure of the man.

"This is against traditions!" He yells angrily. The shadows of the other two higher-ups' heads looking towards him. "Never has a clan head been allowed to just leave-"

I chuckle loudly, the higher-up going silent. "im sorry, but do you honestly think I care what you say?" I ask sarcastically, a hand going to my hip. "I think you forget your place geezer."

"You disrespectful Monkey of a child!" he yells angrily. "A disappointment to the family! It's your own fault your mother-"

"Hung herself?" I ask, tilting my head. "I don't care about the old bitch. She's the one who went and strung herself up on that tree."

The higher-up is silent now. The sound of his breathing is a showing of just how old he is.

"Clan head..." a voice calls from my right. I turn and stare at the door. "Excuse me." he coughs. "But since you're thinking of leaving, we ask you at least do one last thing."

"I don't do-"

"Yes yes, I know you don't do anything for free." he said, raising a hand. "we just ask you one simple thing."

I'm intrigued. "Spit it out."

"We have a woman already lined up. Her family sold her to us to be wed off to. But I know you would never tie it down with anyone we give you."

"damn right."

He chuckled at my dry remark.

"We ask that you breed her, have her birth your children. In return, we will give you five million lien. A good parting gift, no?" He asks, as my eyes go wide. "You get a one-night stand, and five million for it as well."
