The award show had ended and Nailea was quite nervous for the after party bit of it. GQ was a very classy award show and so were the people who attended it. She expected many rich conversations amongst rich people sipping on wine. She didn't know anyone who was attending very well which was another reason she was nervous. She knew she could find someone to talk to, but in a scene like this she couldn't help but feel nervous.
After seeing Marcus, she was shaken up but put her brave face back on. He was getting married. He had moved on, and maybe she should as well. Maybe this award show is her opportunity to branch out and meet new friends.
Nailea moved down the steps into the large room. It has a bar and restaurant like lighting. It was very beautiful and so was everyone in the room. The women were littered with elegance as well as the men.
Feeling awkward, she moved to the bar to get herself a drink. She asked for a cocktail and the bartender nearest was quick to make it and place it in front of her. She scanned the room, wondering if she should go up to a group of people or of that would be strange before hearing a voice next to her.
"Terrible parties, these things huh." She looked over to see central cee stood next to her at the bar. Of course she knew who he was he was proper blowing up right now.
"Probabaly not your style." She smiled at him, appreciative that she finally had sone to talk to.
"Not really but it doesn't seem to be your thing either. You sang tonight right?,"he asked.
"Yeah I did." He let out a grin, "I knew I recognized you! You got a nice voice."
She laughed considering she sang about an hour ago and he couldn't remember that, before letting out a thankyou.
On the opposite side of the room Marcus was stood with Jesse, Jude, Trent, and a few other England players. He had been scanning the room non stop to see if Nailea was there. He was beginning to assume she left after her performance.
Even though he didn't know if he would have the confidence to say anything to her tonight, it would have been nice to be able to look at her. Regardless if he was stood across the room pretending to be in a conversation, when he used to be able to look in her eyes when he woke up in the morning.
Marcus felt a tap on his shoulder, moving his head back to his teammates. Trent is the one who tapped on his shoulder. "There's Nailea man. Chat to her."
Marcus had never snapped his head in a direction so fast. His face immediately scrunched up seeing her laugh with central cee. Marcus knew he had no right to be jealous but he was regardless. In his eyes, Nailea would always be his, ex or not.
He knew Nailea was not actually getting on with Jadon, which only prevented his jealousy a little bit. He had still confronted Jadon. This was different though. Nailea could be with this guy. He could chat to her. Neither owed his loyalties, at leas the knew Nailea didn't anymore.
He couldn't help it though, not when it came to her. "What's she doing chatting with that little kid?" He wasn't asking anyone in particular. He just wanted to throw an insult in the man's direction.
His teammates were not suprised by his words at all. They knew how he was when it came to Nailea. Everyone close to him did. Jesse knowing the most about Marcus's feelings regarding Nailea spoke up. "Relax bro, it's probably just a regular conversation. Go talk to her when he leaves."
Marcus thought about it. He was nervous and scared to talk to Nailea. He had actually planned on not doing it tonight because of his nerves, but his jealousy switches something within him. Seeing her with someone else brings back the reality that it's been 8 months since she broke up with him. She could have been with other men, she could be with another man.
"Jesse I need you to do something for me." Jesse playfully rolled his eyes already knowing where this was going. He would do anything for Marcus especially if it involved Nailea. "What mate."
"Go over there. Chat to her, spill something on him, I don't care just get him to leave. When you do I'll come over." Jesse smirked at his fiends jealousy but was also happy the two would finally talk.
Jesse turned around and made his way towards Nailea and Central Cee. He didn't know what he was going to do to get him away, but he was sure he would think of something so he could get Marcus and Nailea to speak again for the first time in 8 months.
