The scent followed me everywhere, clinging to me like a shadow I couldn't shake. It was strange—I hadn't even noticed it before. But now, it was impossible to ignore.

Next up was Transfiguration. Honestly, it might as well have been a free period since our professor could barely keep the class under control. The moment I walked in, that familiar scent—reminiscent of the Amortentia potion—grew even stronger. I glanced around, searching for the source, but with students crammed into every corner, it was impossible to tell where it was coming from.

Astoria dropped into the seat next to me, clearly in a mood. "Ugh. Pansy won't stop giving me death stares. Ever since she found out I smelled Draco. Who even told her?" She huffed, her glare cutting across the room.

I shrugged. "Probably one of her little minions. You know how she is. Now that someone's 'threatening' her precious 'Draydray,' she's bound to freak out. but you guys really need to sort things out you know."

The scent seemed to drift closer, almost as if it were right behind me. "Guys," I muttered, "I think I'm losing it. This scent is everywhere, ughh." I tried to laugh it off, but there was no hiding the effect it had on me.

"Is Mr. Berkshire driving you crazy?" Astoria teased, giving me a knowing smirk.

"What if it's not him?" I mumbled, suddenly uneasy.

"Oh, it's definitely him," Elena chimed in. "He's been trying to catch your attention every chance he gets."

I grabbed my bag. "I need some air. You coming?"

After a strange day, I decided to clear my head, wandering through the castle halls. I couldn't stop thinking about Lorenzo. We hadn't had a real conversation since the term started, and truthfully, I missed him. It had only been a week, but somehow, it felt much longer.

When I finally made my way back to the Slytherin common room, I spotted the one person I'd been hoping to see. "Oh, hey, guys," I greeted, joining the group.

"Estelle," Lorenzo said, glancing up. "Back so soon?"

I slid onto the couch beside him, surprised. "Yeah, got a little sidetracked. How'd you know I was gone?"

He smirked, draping an arm around me as I leaned into him. "I was looking for you. Elena had to tell me where you'd disappeared to."

"You know," he murmured, his voice dropping to a soft, intimate tone, "it feels like we haven't talked at all since term started." His breath warmed my ear, sending a shiver down my spine, his hand resting lightly on my thigh.

I looked up, locking eyes with him. "Yeah... I haven't seen you around much." My voice came out quieter than I'd intended.

"Merlin, I missed you, Estelle." There was something in his tone, something vulnerable, and for a second, I couldn't tell if he was being sincere or just working his usual charm.

I smirked. "I tend to have that effect on people."

He chuckled, the warm intensity in his eyes growing as he leaned closer, his gaze unwavering.

Suddenly, a group of second-years burst into the common room, loudly asking if anyone had seen Professor Snape. Lorenzo groaned, pulling back. "For Merlin's sake..."

I stifled a laugh and stood up. "I'm heading to dinner. See you there?" I leaned down and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, catching him by surprise.

"Y-yeah," he stammered, a rare blush coloring his cheeks. I hadn't thought Lorenzo could even get flustered, but here he was, looking up at me with wide eyes. It was hard not to smile as I turned and walked away, his surprised expression lingering in my mind.
