"You have arrived at the bottom level."

The elevator came to a halt and Leon and Kelly took off. A couple yards to their left sat a door with a red "exit" sign above. Before they could pick up their speed, the door swung open, and in staggered a few zombies making their way toward the living.

"You have got to be kidding me," Kelly said, aggravated.

Just as she reached for the boomstick mounted on her back, Leon held out his hand, stepping in front of her after grabbing the rocket launcher.

"I got this."

He fired another missile, creating impact on the living corpses and combusted. Pieces of their bodies scattered about, clearing a path for them. Leon put the launcher on his back once more, leading them out.

"Nice," was all Kelly said, following close behind.

Bursting through the door, Leon and Kelly reached the train platform where they saw a yellow locomotive beginning to pass through. They were almost knocked over by a falling beam, so they did not wait another second to hop onboard.

"Gotta get outta here!" Leon shouted, bolting in the direction of their ride.

While the train kept going, the duo sprinted down the tracks to catch up with it. With Leon taking the lead, he outstretched his arm, grabbing onto the bar and pulling himself aboard. He leaned around the side and reached out his hand for Kelly.

She threw her hand out toward him, but the speed the train was going was too great. Their fingers brushed a few times, and in her eyes she saw him stray further away from her. Seeing her struggling made Leon grasp the metal bar and leaned out further.

"Come on, you can do it!" He encouraged her.

Run, Kelly! RUN! Using all of her energy, she put it into her legs and ran as fast as she could. It was like she was flying; she couldn't recall her feet ever touching the ground at that moment. Her hand made contact with his. Once he had her in his grasp, he yanked her onto the car, falling back with Kelly landing right beside him.

He let go of her hand as the sound of falling pieces of the building and loud ruptures began to fade in the distance. They sat up, scooting themselves to the wall of the car. And they stayed like that. Like limp dolls that were waiting to be seen again. Exhausted and on the brink of shutting down for a few hours, they have succeeded.
