Hilda's Free Time In London

Chapter 5: Driving Edward

Hilda decided to drive Edward around. She went to put on her uniform. She came a few minutes later. She was dressed in a bright blue uniform, with black shoes, and a black tie.

Hilda: "So Twig, how do I look?"

Twig loved Hilda's uniform. He smiled.

Hilda: "Come on, we've got an engine to drive."

Hilda went to the office, where her manager was at his desk.

Hilda: "Hello."

Manager: "Hilda? What are you doing here? I thought I gave you the day off."

Hilda: "You did, but I wanna spend some time with Edward."

Manager: "That's fair enough. And nice of you. Alright, go on then."

Hilda went to the railyard by London Station, where Edward the Blue Engine was waiting.

Hilda: "Hi, Edward."

Edward: "Hello, Hilda. Hi, Twig."

Hilda: "I thought I could spend some time with you, Edward."

Edward: "You didn't have to. It's your day off."

Hilda: "We've been good friends for a while now. I couldn't just let you sit here."

Edward: "Alright. Come on."

Hilda climbed into Edward's cab. She shoveled the coal into his firebox, she released the brakes, opened the throttle, and pulled on the whistle. They set off down the line. Hilda loved driving Edward. She took good care of him, made sure he had plenty of water and coal, polished him, and oiled him.  

Later, they were relaxing in the park.

Edward: "Hilda? Can you promise me something?"

Hilda: "Of course. Anything."

Edward: "Promise me we'll always be friends. No matter what."

Hilda: "Of course, Edward. I'll do anything for you. My Eddie."

Hilda then kissed Edward on the cheek.

Edward's face blushed bright red.

Edward: "Can that stay between the four of us?"

Hilda: "Yes. And so can this?"

Hilda lifted her shirt. Edward could not believe his eyes.

Edward: "Have you been working out?"

Hilda: "Yes. I've got a six pack."

Edward: "That explains why you were able sav Lofty that one time."

Hilda: "Yeah. Come on. Let's get back."
