The world does not know of the change the timeline went through—not including one time based Steve—and so, when the trio decides they have had enough, the occupants of the world went about their day.
News would soon spread about the crystal's destruction and shard creation, but not for an hour or two. For the Leaders held their respective shard as each one had their mind whirring over the events that just occured.
(Orange also held the Blue, Indigo and Red shards. Two Leaders were not there to collect theirs and the Red Steves were no more, so he thought.)
They do not yet realize the sheer difference their choice to banish Sabre has caused. Each one believing they were in the right, for it seemed as if Sabre had fallen too far into the Darkness for their safety. The appearance of Shadow, the one that tried to end them—unwillingly, not that they know that— and Dark, the one who attempted to end Happy and Yellow Assistant.
Yet, not all the Leaders knew of the events that came to pass. For two were not in the realm to know. Blue Leader and Indigo Leader, both in their respective kingdoms and dimensions, would soon find out the events transpired.
Yet, Indigo Leader would be the first to discover. For Indigo, the Steve representing Connection, felt pain from the sharp stab of several strings of connections snapping deep within his powers.
An instinctual part of them mourned the loss of what was many connections breaking. For that meant something terrible had to have happened, for that many to break at once.
For he was a being representing connection, and such, he could feel the connections that connected people. A web of colorful dots connected by many strings leading to one another.
Indigo was a part of that web, and he could feel the connections that connected him to others. So it was a shock, when he went about his day, Indigo felt one of his connections strain, shudder, then snap. It was sudden, leaving him reeling where he stood.
None of the Indigo Steves around him seemed to have felt it, so it wasn't one of his people that he lost. Another Chromatic than. From the sheer loss the string left him with, it was someone important.
So he bid his farewells to the Indigo Steves around him and left the Middle World.
The soul crushing information he would soon learn made him wish he didn't. For it was not a Chromatic that his connection with broke, but Sabre. Sabre, the one who tried so hard to help them even with the disaster that seemed to surround his very existence.
Indigo took his shard from Orange, the only he went to see, and left, returning to his kingdom.
He, once alone, sunk into his powers. He did not know if he wished to prove Orange wrong, to find Sabre and his connections and see everything was alright.
It was not a habit of his to sink into his powers. for it was quite easy to get lost in the strands of connections that filled the world. For everyone and everything has a connection to something, and the connections could easily make an Indigo lose their way.
It took some time, enough to where all the other Chromatic colors had discovered about the shards, by the time Indigo found what he was searching for.
It was far away, past all the colorful spheres and strings and into a black mist just nearly out of Indigo’s reach, but he could feel the connections that led to Sabre. The shining ball, one of pure white that represented Sabre, was shining but barely. The light was flickering, with the black mist that surrounded where he was dipping into the sphere at time. The mist would leave dark streaks that'd soon fade away.
A dying ball of light surrounded by nothing but dark mist…and two nearly black spheres.
Two strings from each ball connected to the other two. If what he was told was true, Dark and Shadow. A knot formed in their gut as they felt the two strings that connected him. They were solid, not a frayed bit in sight.
