Decades before a cup of coffee
A long bridge from the past
Hearts that were not meant to be
But voices are found at last.
A fragile forms before the coffee mugs,
Transcendent smiles upon the pallid lips
Transcendent miles, two hearts, two shrugs,
A story—a concern from my fingertips.
A courage found at last,
Or a chanceless courage before,
The abutment of the bridge of the past:
An adoration that is no more!
Another smile as we finally stood up
From a world behind diverging yesterdays,
Hers is empty, but half is left in my cup
Two souls quietly part in separate ways.
