❛ ━━・❪ Daya you're a Toretto ❫ ・━━ ❜

They sat in the coffee shop in silence for a while in silence as she drank her coffee, her mind was racing, she had no idea how to all of this. Dom was back. Letty is dead. And here she was sitting with the guy who broke her heart 5 years ago

She starred at her drink "I'm almost done" Daya looked up at him "Are you going to talk to me?"

"Look, you know they're going to capture Dom. Maybe worse" he stated briefly "l don't want you getting tangled up in this. So stay away from him"

"Wow" Daya said dryly "That's what you have to say to me after five years?"

"All of a sudden, you care what happens to me" she avoided his eyes. Why was it that this is the first conversation they're having since the driveway and all that leaves his mouth is that he wants her to stay away from her own brother

"What l did to you was wrong" he searched for any expression on her face "l'm sorry. lt was. . . lt was the hardest thing l've ever had to do" he said honestly but she was blinded by the lies from 5 years ago to realize his truth

"I'm sorry too, Brian" she finally looked into his eyes "I'm so sorry that you had to come into my home and tear my family apart, I bet that was really difficult but most of all I'm sorry that the job you were getting paid for required you to pretend to care for me"

Brian was completely aware of the amount of damage he did, not just to her but to the people she most cared for

"l lied to you" he started "l lied to Dom. l lied to everybody. That's what l do best it's why the Feds recruited me"

"Who are you Brian?" she questioned him "I miss Brian Earl Spilner, the guy who listened to nobody but himself. You know the guy that I-" she stopped herself and grabbed her bag before sliding out of the booth

"That guy wasn't real. He never was. He was a lie" she turned to him "but maybe you're lying to yourself"

"Maybe you're not the good guy pretending to be a bad guy. Maybe you're the bad guy pretending to be the good guy. You ever think about that?" she finished

"Everyday" he responded

"I've always wondered, why'd you let my brother go that day" she asked him finally

"I don't know" he answered

She nodded her head before leaving

"Are you alright?" Dom asked as his little sister walked into the garage leaning on the car

"Just a long morning" she shrugged rubbing her eyes

"Yeah?" he questioned wiping the grease from his hands with a towel "Tell me"

"The FBI is on to you Dom, and they're not going to stop" she sighed "You have to be careful. I was answering all these questions by the department because they wanted to know where you are"

"You know I'm always careful D"

Dom had went over to the girl and leaned on the car next to her putting his arm over her and kissed her temple

Dayanara wanted to tell her brother about bumping into Brian and how he dragged her to the coffee shop. But she knew it wasn't that important. She also knew that Dom really sought a brother in Brian and it only led to betrayal

"There's a man named Braga, and I have a strong belief he has something to go with Letty's murder" He started "And Ramon Campos is his associate will be hosting a race in korea town"

"They have already chosen two drivers and they're looking for two more" Dom continued as Daya looked at him intrigued "I want you to come race with me"

"I haven't been behind the wheel in years" she chuckled "I'm not even sure if I can still race"

"Come on, Daya you're a Toretto" he laughed gripping her shoulder

"But if anything goes sideways you come home and stay home I can't have anything happening to you" he proclaims as she smiled at him like a child

"You know I'm in it for the long run" she chuckled "Wait when's the race?" she asked

"Tomorrow night"

"Que hermosa eres chula" (How beautiful you are pretty) a man complimented Dayanara as she walked by following Dom

The place was filled with street racers, it's been a while since shes been around the seen it was refreshing

"You two are here for the race correct?" a slim tall women said approaching Dom and Daya

"Yeah for picks?" Dom asked, the women nodded

"Follow me"

They followed her into the building where there was more racers and ... Brian?

Seeing Brian set her back and her brother noticed, it put a smile on his face to see how relentless he was

"You all know why you are" Campos stated "Good drivers are a dime in a dozen"

"Man, every corner's got a chingadera tuner racing for pinks. That's not what Braga has me looking for" he continues "Braga wants someone that would sell their abuelita to be behind the wheel"

"Someone that drives their 10 second cars not in a straight line but to push it and make it through places no one else would take it. Real drivers"

"So what are we hauling?" Dom questions

"For the money Braga's paying, you don't need to know" Campos answered

"You just said you wanted real drivers" Dom crosses his arms as he looked at his sister and then at Campos "A real driver knows exactly whats in his car"

"Mira" (Look) "Real driver" the man next to Daya mocked as he stepped to Dom "Nobody is forcing you to race"

"You the boss?" Dominic questioned looking the man up and down the

"Do I look like the boss?" he chuckled threateningly

Daya noticed her brother getting tense as she stood closer by his side

"My job is to find the best drivers, period" Campos interrupted "The two who win the race, gets the info, we cool?"

"No we aint cool man" another man who stood next to Brian spoke "Who's closing down the streets?"

Campos chuckled

"No one. That's the point"
