You find yourself ducking behind a car trying to figure out what on earth was going on. Screams fill the air and you feel the hairs on your arms begin to stick up. This whole situation is giving you the chills.

The confidence you once had is now replaced with fear as you realise what you were doing. Sitting behind a car... with no idea what kind of danger was nearby.

You mentally scold yourself for being so careless and letting curiosity get the better of you. Although you were too far in to retreat now, you might as well figure out what's happening.

"Bang!"

Well there's the answer you'd been looking for. You cover your ears wincing at the sound. When you look back up you see flames engulfing your favourite restaurant across the road from you, and it begins to cave in.

Someone was setting off explosions, that building happening to be a victim. You frown, Oh man I really liked that place. You see agents fighting, firing guns at each other in the distance.

It's only when you take another look that you realise the Avengers were there. Your best friend is obsessed with them, she often daydreams about becoming a hero like them one day.

You on the other hand, couldn't care less, although it is cool to watch them in action right now. They work so well together. Your best friend will literally go crazy when you get home and tell her you saw them all, especially Hawkeye.

Things start to get even more heated. More explosives go off in the distance. Less civilians are in the area now, only soldiers and agents, including the Avengers.

Your brows furrow in confusion wondering why on earth the people the Avengers were fighting are just blowing up random buildings. What is their aim?

You're pulled back to reality when a tesla parked on the side of the road about four cars up from you explodes.

"Boom!"
And then the next car.

"Bam!"
And the next.

Your heart beat quickens, but you don't move. Frozen by fear. Your survival instincts really are terrible. You begin to tremble and close your eyes bracing yourself. Suddenly you feel a strong arm wrap around your waist, scooping you from your once seated position.

"Bang!"

Next thing you know you are being squeezed tightly, carried bridal style, and your rescuer begins running before taking cover behind the one and only Captain America as he holds up his shield. You feel them grab your head shielding you from the oncoming blast.

"Boom"

You release a shaky breath you didn't realise you had been holding as they take their hand off of your head. You feel the tight grip around your waist loosen as you are placed gently back onto your feet.

You smile in relief, grateful to still be in tact and look up to see who your rescuer is so you can thank them. You have to forcibly keep your mouth shut as you see emerald green eyes glaring back into yours.

Your hero's hair is cut just above their shoulders, curled slightly, a bright shade of red, a dead giveaway that you were saved by THE Black Widow. Gosh. Your best friend is going to lose it.

"I'd wipe that smile off your face if I were you," she snarls, "do me a favour, next time you hear explosions and gunfire, how about you run away from it, instead of wasting my time having to rescue you because you were dumb enough to run into it."

You immediately frown. Ouch! You find yourself even shaking slightly, and you're not sure if it's because you nearly got blown up, or the scary redhead in front of you.

I mean, yes you were technically being an idiot but you thought she was being a little harsh. You definitely learnt your lesson from nearly exploding, you didn't need her scolding you like you were five again.

You knew Black Widow was fierce but you didn't expect her to have such an attitude. You hate people like that.

"Now get out of here, I'm not saving you again."

That was enough for you to speed off, mumbling a quiet thank you as she continued to glare at you. She shook her head as you left.

"That was a little harsh Romanoff?," Steve said with an eyebrow raised.

She just shrugged hoping she'd taught you a lesson and scared you enough to never be that stupid again. Right?
