ISABELLA
Neither of us were speaking and the ticking of the clock on my bedside table and soft pattering of raindrops can be heard from outside. I don't know what to say and on top of that, I still feel very much embarrassed about earlier interaction.
"S-So..uh–"
"H-How are you feeling?" he asked
I blinked at him, surprised for him doing the first move. "B-Better, I guess"
"C-Can I ask about what h-happened earlier?"
I chewed my bottom lip before answering. "I just thought that we we're..."
"We were?" he pushed.
"..watching movies together" I ended, not looking at him.
"But w-we really were" he said, turning a bit red. "Our c-class ended earlier for a bit so I s-stayed at the coffee shop and waited until I s-saw your text and then my s-sister came up and started teasing me about the d-date when I–"
"Wait what"
He looked at me wide eyed and I did the same. It was his fucking sister!
"B-Bella, I j-just–sorry, I ahm–"
"You mean to tell me that you have a sister and you didn't even tell me?"
"I–what?"
"Why are you only telling me this now?"
"Why are you reacting over that?"
"What do you mean–I thought that she was—" I stood up in frustration and brushed my hair.
Shawn didn't speak a word and instead he just watched me as I walked back and forth to my room, listening to my grunts of frustrations. After a minute, he started to hold back his laughter by clearing his throat.
"I'm sorry, do you find this funny right now?" I asked him.
"Yeah, well" he smiled. "I thought you would be angry over something else"
I placed my hands over my hips and looked at him. "Oh yeah? What would be more frustrating than finding out that the person I'm jealous about is your goddamn sister?"
"that I called it a da–w-wait, what did you say?"
I stopped and realized that I basically just confessed and told him that I was throwing some tantrums because he was paying attention to a different person that is of the opposite sex (quite rather passionately). This is madness. Borderline Obsession, I tell you.
"N-Nothing" I gulped down the glass of water on my bedside table.
"Bella..." he started.
"Alright fine...fuck" I sighed. "I thought that..that..."
"That?"
"That she was your girlfriend.." I said quietly and turned my back on him.
what the fuck, I have never felt this sense of humiliation my entire life and what's worse is that I can't fight my way out of it!
Shawn was silent and I kind of expected him to laugh at me and what I said so I peeked at him and it turned out that he also had his back turned on me. I took a step to him and was about to make him look when I noticed his ear was bright red.
I grinned mischievously as a thought ran in my head, completely making me forget that I was embarrassed as him a few minutes ago.
"So what did you think I would be angry about?"
